Default Still not sure after all these years (advice needed)

I am 26 years old and i still have no idea what i want to be when i grow up. I have never went to college becuase i enver wanted to waste my time effort and money on something iw asnt passionate about, but now that im getting older i feel i need to go to school. i dont think i can handle dancing much longer so i want to get into school asap so i can get a "good" job in the near future. the only things i have any sort of interest in is humanitarian work and dogs. i dont want to be a vet, i dont want to work with animals that are hurt or dying i couldnt handle it. most humantiarian work is non profit and volenteer. im also somewhat interested in foreign language though i am not bilingual.

i guess what im asking for is maybe some career ideas to look into that i hadnt thought of that will pay enough to live on fairly well 30,000 a year or more, which really isnt that much but its all i need.

i just know that my dancing time is starting to come to a close and i am happy with that provided i have some career ideas in mind so i can transition to school and be roud of myself again....

Buisness is something that most of us have a "natural" ability in anyway... Maybe Club/Entertainment Management?

Find one of those testing websites that will tell you what kind of vocation your interests would be helpful in. I am taking Psych in school... It has come VERY easy, but you are right, A LOT of classes.

    dog training would be good.

what about opening a dog rescue...get the non profit status etc. not sure if there is much money in it though.

OH OH I know! what about opening your own dog wash? Maybe a mobile one where you come to the people's houses and wash their dogs. Or what about a doggie daycare? Those are pretty"hot" right now.

There are many things you can do, but as for recruiting your passion, you really need to layout what you LOVE to do.

My friend was a dancer, she eventually tired of it and began working at Petsmart as a groomer. She said Petsmart paid for her training to get started as a groomer. Now she has her own mobile grooming business and hopes to open a shop in the future...she said she loves it!

I'm hoping to get into the animal industry ... own a vet, a pet store, offer "pet sitting" and grooming etc etc..... that's where my passion and dream is... just that it will take me a few get to there... I'm okay with that...

Unless you want totally out of the adult entertainment industry... you could look at teaching classes in exotic dance etc ???

I'm looking at Terminal Care Nursing because I had people tell me repeatedly I had the right personality for the field (a compliment, really) & the pay is excellent because few people can bear working with patients who are going to die. The relationship is similar to relationships in the stripping biz- a lot of intimacy in a short time with little to no future involvement with the people in question.
I also find when one makes an effort to find a calling in life, it will materialize, you might have a few false starts, but you can use that experience in a cumulative sense...... You have to break a few eggs to make an omlette. Kinda corny saying, but try a few things out & see what you find compelling.

Ah, see, but you do know what you want to be when you grow up.

Dog grooming or training seem like ideal fields for you. Do you live in an urban area? How about doggie day care dog walking or pet sitting? What about being a vet tech?

    Here are so
me sites I found via Google.

If you don't find that the doggie thing works for you (I love dogs too, and would love to work with them as a career, but it's just too saturated where I am), how about trade school? Trades are crazy in demand, and they're usually 2 year diplomas (since you stated you don't want to do a 4 year degree), with good money outcomes. Lots of fields to choose from.

Humanitarian work requires extensive training (beyond 4-year degree), for relatively little pay. Or, at least to work through CIDA in Canada. You could always join Peace Corps.

thats actually ironic becuase i rigth out of high school wanted to join only to have them tell me that you have to have a degree in something to sign up...i never understood why you need a degree to feed and clothes starving people. gah.
