Default My God, I think I'm melting...

It is SO fucking hot here!!!!!!!

    If I go outside, I can't breathe...being 5 1/2 months preggers doesn't help in that department either.

Can it get any damn hotter???? It's 98 degrees here, but with the humidity at 78%, the heat index is 108!

I would go do nice rain dance, but I'm afraid that if I open my door, I'll pass out...

Can those of you in cooler climates point your fans this way and blow the cold air over here? Pweety pweety pweeeeeese????

VG, the office here is chilly. But I'm dreading going home tonight. Even with the AC cranked (at massive expense), my old Victorian house doesn't feel comfortable. The 2nd floor is 20 degrees hotter than the first floor.

P.S. Being a glutton for punishment, however, I'm headed to my Bikram class tonight. Wish me luck.

I'm so sorry! This heat wave is ridiculous! It was 106 or something in Portland the other weekend, which is unheard of. It finally cooled down here though. My little sis is in Minnesota and is dying in 110 and record humidity . Drink plenty of water - take a cold bath.

I hear you! It's 97 here and 103 with the heat index. I've had the A/C going all day and I don't go outside unless I need to. As far as I'm concerned, A/C isn't a luxury; it's a necessity. When I first moved to Chicago several years ago, I had a fifth-floor apartment and I thought I would try it without A/C at first to see if I could handle it. Never again!

Hahaha, I am soooo not for my area. I just ran 5 miles in this last night. It's 95 here. I drank a lot of water, but man did it kick ass.

It is hovering between 37F and 45F here. So, have a blast of the nice cool air down in Melbourne.

Hope your heat wave ends soon. It has been much colder than usual here this winter. Last week was much colder.

high of 101 here today, 102 tomorrow, its neverending, my ac in my livingroom isn't much better then having a fan. Haley has sensitive skin so as soon as she gets hot she gets heat rash. Thankfully my neighbor was nice enough to invite us into her pool today so we cooled off for a bit but wiht the pool in the direct sun the water was warm.

^ You made $1300 for your first stage set? Dayum!!

I'm so glad we have C/A...but, for some strange reason, our second floor is not getting any air (only the main floor). I've called the heating and air guys who all tell me that the A/C unit is fine. THEN WHY THE HELL IS MY SECOND FLOOR ALMOST SWELTERING?????????????

I just don't get it...in fact, I refused to pay the tech for his time here, because he didn't DO anything...and then wanted to charge me for the service call. I told him, have your manager call me because if my A/C unit is fine and everything is working as it should be (and I have a brand new house) then my second floor should not be registering at 90 degrees!!!

    We'll see what happens. heh

$1300! TART! You've come into your own. Great to see a local talent thrive. Wheeee! Maybe after yoga tonight I'll drop in, have a diet coke and add to your warchest.

We have an older two-story as well. Same thing...It's decent downstairs (I keep it around 76-77, or my bill goes thru the roof) but upstairs is a different story. You can actually feel the difference as you walk up the stairs. I'm not sure of the exact difference, but I know I just checked my son's python's cage and it's 86.7F in there, with the heatpad and heat lights off. It cools off at night, but forget trying to dry off after a shower in the daytime up there. You just stay wet, from the humidity. SUCKS. Oh well, autumn isnt too far away. My wife hates the cold so I suppose it's an even trade.

I hate the cold too, but heat sucks worse. Thank god we have some rain here, so it's only been lik 65 today. It's been a nice change from the 110 degree weather. I am willing to share my rain, as long as I can keep some of it too

They still haven't replaced the outside unit for the AC, so I can empathize with any of you whose AC isn't working, or works like shit. Ours works just fine in the morning, and late at night. But during the day when we need it? Fuhgeddaboudit. The outside unit shorts itself out when the Sun's been on it for a while.

So here I am, with the AC that doesn't work around this time, kicked to full blast, and 2 box fans blowing on me and Delia. The fans don't do shit but blow around the HOT air, but at least it's air blowing. Bleh.

I want to move to Alaska or some shit. At least until I deliver. I'll be alright once he gets out. Bleh.

yah if only i made that my first stage set lol

Actually., last night was one of those ..handsy people night. Isit a full moon or something? Fuck i swear.

Beyond running to work. and might I add., I didnt realize it was strange that NO ONE was walking around lakeview... till I gotto work and thought about it. It was like a ghost town at 8 pm! That's because all these fuckers took the cabs! bastards.

I pray to god I get one tonight. I dont think i can handle another night of running like a mad woman with stripper gear strapped to my back in 110 degree weather .

Hey but if running like that to work, means everytime i'll make 1300 ..holy fuck I'll do it all the time lol.

Im on the 3rd floor btw in mybrownstone and can I just add that the ca is set at 70 and its still almost 80 in here.

I'm sending nice cool summery thoughts your way VG! Oregon has a wonderful climate (most of the time). It is 77F where I sit right now. This is typical for this area at this time of year.

Lake effects don't cool you guys off in the summer, too?

Anyhow, keep cool and keep hanging out on your first floor.

Didn't you say that you had a spare bedroom there??

Tart, I don't know how you did that. I go outside and I am drenched in sweat the moment I step in the sun. But, yeah...I'd run to work, too, if it meant a $1300 night. heh Good luck tonight!!

I thought yesterday was bad in NYC.......today on Yahoo weather it says 104 for NYC with a heat index (feels like) 120!!!!!!!!! With high humidity on top of that.......this is seriously inhumane.

You know, a lot of our township/county workers are off today. They were doing some repairs in my yard (a culvert collapsed and I had a huge 4 foot by 4 foot hole in my yard (yikes!!) and they were out the other day, but the township called this morning saying that the workers would not be back until the heatwave subsided. Some of the workers are out mowing with those riding mowers...but the street workers/physical laborers are not doing much today. I don't blame them.

...and my landlord asked me to have my husband cut the grass today
Bwaahahahahaha Did you laugh your ass off when they asked that? That's the funniest shit. I mean, the fucking grass isn't even growing it's so damn hot out.

So here I am in Chicago as well.....my wall unit A/C decides that it will not work while my computer is on (or my TV, or my cell charger, etc). Normally this wouldn't be a big deal, b/c I can live without TV/computer/ etc for a few days BUT - this happens to be my week of finals for school, which also has meant my research paper needed to be worked on .....and done by tomorrow! So for the past 3 days, after working all days, I come home, turn off my air and get to to researching and typing! I got the A/C problem fixed an hour ago, after finishing my paper and my apt is still boiling hot. This is great.
