    Default copycat??

Please be blunt with me about this. I have a thong I had custom made where on side of the thong is 3 strips of rhinestones instead of fabric. I always get extra tips and compliments when I wear it. I was the only girl at my club to have one like that.
The other dancers would always tell me how much they loved it. So now, one of the girls who always complimented me on it, told me she just put in an order of her own to be made. She told me that if we are both wearing it at the same time, she'll change. This kinda bothered me cuz it was my "unique" thong. I always hated it when girls would accuse other girls of "copying" them and now I'm one of those girls. How do I handle something so petty? I know I'm being childish. It's just that I loved standing out with this thong.

It sucks, but you'll have to ignore it, or you'll be accused of being petty. At least she came clean to you about ordering it and has agreed to change if you're both wearing it at the same time.

Thanks girl. I mean, it's not like I'm gonna tell the girls for now on not to buy certain things cuz I have them. It's just part of the business.

On another side, you'll be known as a trendsetter! Good or bad, you decide.

Course, you could always wear it and then she'll never get to wear her's while you're there...LOL

It sucks. I had a couple of girls go out and buy the exact same dresses I had (and I got them from out of the way places). It's the life of the stripper.

the girl who's copying you is a form of flattery in some way... I know it sucks shes gonna have a similar thong, but at least its not a dress or outfit that would be incredibly noticeable.... she prob just looks up to you a lot and loves your style.... i wouldn't stress out too much about it....

I know, I hate that! I think many strippers have been copied at least some time in their stripping career. This one girl at my club ALWAYS asks me where did you get that outfit, all the time. I'm not going to tell her because she'll go out and buy it! I guess the one good thing that you do have going for you is she at least was forthright about it telling you before hang and agreed to not wear it on the days you do. Most strippers wouldn't do that, they'd just go out and get it and wear it on the day you do as a way of competition.

You should take it as a compliment. I know exactly what you are talking about. I have my own unique, look, music, and dance moves. Now I feel like I am constanly changing all of them, I have two girls in particular who do the exact same thing. I just do it better!!!

I have 2, red and white thongs with 3 strands of rhinestones on 1 side it has no fabric on the side where the rhinestone chains are that look like diamonds.I have seen a couple other girls wear them too a few years ago when I used to wear mine.Even a few years ago. They arent a new style.sorry.You used to be able to buy them in a lingerie shop for like 20 bucks or so.I have seen them on ebay before(occasionally) awhile back. They arent that rare of a thing in Indiana.Sorry to burst your bubble. Its just a pair of thongs,No big deal.

i know how you feel. i don't think you're over reacting. some girls -do- get way too worked up about it when the other girl is clearly not "trying" to "rip them off". i mean, there are so many cimilar outfits and shoes out there that we are bound to run into "matching". however, there's a point when it's rude. there's a girl at my club who went out and bought the same bikini a girl had... in 3 different colors. the day after that she asked me if she could be this same really intricate outfit i have. i told her no in a polite way, and she went out and got the same one anyway. she now has 3 or 4 of the same outfits myself and the other girl have. the really irritating thing about it is we only have 5 girls on staff for my shift to begin with.... so it isnt as if it doesn't stand out.

i will say this though, when customers DO notice that another girl blatently copied you, it always makes -them- look bad. just don't talk shit about it infront of the customers if anywhere brings it up. blow it off. it makes you seem more independent and confident. one of my regulars mentioned how the girl i spoke of above is copying myself and another girl, the DJ even pointed it out. it never makes -you- look bad though, so don't sweat it.

I make a specific style of bottoms that are for one of my girls only and all the other girls are always asking me to make some for them and I always say I'm sorry but I can't. It doesn't help that she's a smokin' hot Carmen Electra type and the girls want to steal her hair and makeup style!

I've been there, I know how irritating it is, it's your style, it was your idea, why should they just feed off of your light bulbs and not get their own! Even though I tell girls no they will still go to someone else and have some made or try and do it themselves. It's frustrating but it's always going to happen.
