    Default Remi hair extensions?

Ok, so I've been using cheap "real human hair" extensions for about 2 months now but they always get matted and gross after about a week of my abuse (ie. straightening, curling, washing, etc).
I was at the hair store and asked the guy for "the best quality hair" they sold.. he handed me the "remi hair" and it was like $70..
I have been reading on here about remi hair extensions and the concensus seems to be that no one should use hair glue to apply them. I am just wondering what the reason behind this is!? Once the bonds become loose, can't I just reglue? I am wanting some kind of hair extensions that won't get all tangled and matted after about a week of use. I was talking to a girl at work and she said something like "Oh I think the remi hair is too good to use with glue" but I didn't have time to ask her what she meant! What's wrong with using glue?! I don't want to waste my $70 if there is some other reason why I shouldn't glue them in.
Has anyone ever used the remi hair and had success with styling, ie. straightening, curling, washing, etc.?
    Thanks!

You found Remi sold as a weft? Huh... From my understanding, it's only sold in bundles so you'd either have to create your own weft or bond it using the fusion method. The reason most people say it's too expensive to glue in is because it takes several bundles to acheice a natural, professional looking result.

But I say go for it!

If you decide to go with a more moderately priced human hair in the future, asked for "cuticle correct" wefts or bundles. The cuticle (that outer layer of the hair that looks like shingles on a roof) of each strand are going in the same direction which dramatically reduces tangles and matting.

I always buy it on wefts too. I think people are warning you about using the hair glue period, not just on Remy hair. Many people have breakage with the glue. I take my time, and actually use a heap of cholesterol when removing it, and also tthe bond-remover shampoo etc.

If you think about it, if you have not been manipulating your hair the way you usually would w/o the weave, its normal to see 'hair-loss". Its just like if you hadn't combed your hair for a week, and then when you did...the amount would be more than a day's worth.

Anyway, its a preference pretty much. I'd just be vary careful, and patient if you do decide to use glue.

I sew'ed My Clips on to the remy hair.

I Love my clip ons. and it only takes as long as it takes to pin a barett in your hair. I tease a little in the place of the clips as ,so they hold better. and I where my clip ons all the time, even to the grocery store. and I take them out at bed time..... that is a reliefe for me....

which is why I thought the perminate kind was way tooooo costly, and a hastle, I hated sleeping in thos dreded things.... so clip ins is best for me. im thinking od adding a few red clip ins, for red high lites, i can put my high lites any place i want.

I have used a Remi deep-wave on the weft.. it's great..well worth the money! Another ggod one is the Beverly Johnson tangle-free line. I get my blonde colors off bestwig.com the Hollywood & Euronext are very expensive but even better than hair you could grow yourself! I glue mine in sometimes (just not always to give your scalp "breathing time") Just make sure you use bond remover & glue removing shampoo to completely remove the glue!!

and i even got my little girl sportting her's. I'm thinking of going longer now. at first i wasn't brave enough for longer, because it was too drastic, but my real hair is growing faster, and so i think i may be ready for longer locks now. .

    Ok, thanks everyone!
Ya I found it in weft form in a store, it was $70 Canadian which isn't that bad I thought. I'm glad to hear there IS a good quality human hair out there (without going the fusion or great lengths method!).. I'm excited to see if this hair delivers on it's promises, and can stand up to all I put it through.

I think I will get some in clip form but I'm gonna try glueing them in soon to see how they are first..
Ya I notice that when I take out the glue, a lot of my own hairs come with it but I'm not concerned, cuz like you said, justjayda, it's just natural hair loss built up for however long you had the glue in.. I don't notice any breakage on my real hair at all.. and like I said I have been changing the extensions pretty much weekly for a month or two now.. Anyways, thanks for the tips on remi.. now it's not a mystery to me anymore. Oh, one more thing- what about the "Silky Straight" style?? I heard that is the next-best thing, does anyone know if it's cuticly aligned or whatever? Thanks..

Is that the Remi hair you can dye? I remember someone teling me about this- I felt it in the store it was very soft, silky and look like it's worth the price. I just didn't remember the name.

Okay I went to ebay looking for this hair and they have it like this....what are you supposed to do with these things...cut them off?

They're for fusion method. The bulbs on the ends are keratin bonds.
