    Default vegas v.s. LA

    Hi girls!

if you have the choice of living and working in vegas and LA/OC.. which one would you choose?

Vegas pro's: cheaper rent, more $$ during convention season especially
Vegas con's: weather, more hustling, etc

LA/OC pro's: Great place to live, nice weather
    LA/OC con's: less $$, more expensive rent

    any feedback is appreciated!

In my opinion, they are both horrible places to live. But I'd rather live in L.A. than Vegas, given only those two options. At least my little neighborhood in Hollywood is pretty cool, and I get better customers at my club.

I would choose Las Vegas for a couple of reasons...

well, NV has no state income tax (and lower taxes in general like sales tax and gas)
I like seeing different faces in the club every night (I don't rely much on regulars)
    the traffic isn't as bad
You can find an all-you-can-eat buffet at 4am for $2.99

Ive never been to LA, but I love living in Vegas. I live in a quiet little neighborhood, it feels like I am far from the actual city, but I can get to the strip in 5 minutes. I couldnt live anywhere else because I am spoiled in Vegas, there is always something to do. I can go out at 4am, and the bars are still open, I can go to a caisno and play a slot machine and get free drinks. Convention season is an awesome time to dance in Vegas. The weather doesn't bother me because I have a night job anyway, I dont leave the house until after dark, and get home when the sun is just starting to come up, if I want to go outside and lay by the pool, it is a not to hot in the early morning.
The greatest reason I love to live in Vegas? There is nowhere else in the world I can go out for the night and come home with more money than I left with. (if you like to gamble)

My parents live in Las Vegas and I live in the LA coastal area of Santa Monica which I love. I commute over the hill to work in the valley area, but it's just part-time. It's worth it to me to come home to a safe place where the air is cleaner and I actually have nice neighbors.

I like parts of Vegas away from the strip, closer to the mountains where my family lives. However, working and commuting to a part of Vegas I would like would take too much energy.

I've never worked in Vegas but I hear it's really draining.

North Las Vegas is the UNsafest place to live.
I live in the south part of town and it is very safe and I love it because it is not to far away from anything either. Summerlin is nice, but expensive and to far away from everything.

Actually, Summerlin is on the way to the neighborhood my family lives in. Expensive, yes, but if I was in Vegas, that's where I would live. Santa Monica, where I live now, is a bit pricey also.

I like Green Valley myself (5-10 mins. south of the strip). Conventions are best between Jan.-April

hows downtown and SW? I was thinking somewhere between desert inn/decature/charleston area. I like being close to a Walmart and something in the middle of everything.

First of all, where is this buffet???

As far as places to live, downtown would not be my personal choice because its not as safe as other areas. (And you wouldn't even consider North Las Vegas.)

But really, anywhere on the outskirts of the city including, Green Valley, Henderson, southwest, Summerlin, and even northwest. The only problem with Henderson is traffic. Summerlin isn't really that far- only 10-15 minutes from the strip.

And I like the weather (but I moved here from the tundra, practically.) Its sunny every day and yes its hot but its not humid. And (WoOt) it doesn't get very cold in winter!

Sorry, don't know much about LA except during convention season a lot of California girls come here to work.

I live in Summerlin and it takes me about 12 minutes to get to work. Of course I don't usually hit traffic at 10 o clock at night.

LOL I've driven from the Red Rock Casino back to the Monte Carlo at 9 pm and it took longer than 12-mins. In fact in seemed like almost half an hour...oh well.
