    tonsillitis

I need to know... if person A has tonsillitis ... and person B kisses person A on the lips (not open mouth, just on the lips) can person B become infected?

person A and person B are in a relationship (not it isn't me - I'm single!)

My friend is person B and she.. well.. was intimate with her boyfriend (person A) as she thought to come over to give him some loving due to him being ill with tonsillitis.

I just read something that concerned me about tonsillitis on the net here to find out more information.. that a person is contagious as soon as symptoms are present and 5 days after.

Naturally, she (person B) hasn't presented with any symptoms yet... tho' she wants to know if she is unneccessarily worrying or not. I want to know too as I'm a bit ignorant of this virus due to not having ever had it myself nor really known anyone who had it... so I couldn't say... hence the reason I post.

Should she be concerned? I think the boyfriend (person A who has the tonsillitis) presented with it earlier this week... so he might be in that 5 day range. Should she just go to her doctor anyway or wait 24 hrs to see if she presents with any symptoms ?

Tonsillitis can be caused by bacteria or virus. It can be passed through saliva...so kissing, sharing a drinking glass or even eating after someone who has it can be enough to pass it along. I'd wait at least 24 hours to see if she starts getting symptoms.

I told her to wait for 24 hours as well in the end. Best to not to needlessly worry. She might be okay. Granted, she has told her BF that the only kissing she will be doing is with his dick

On that note, it just occured to me a question, if the BF who is infected gave her a "blowjob" would she contract it ? Should she not even give him BJs whilst he is ill ? She figures the orgasms might help him recover faster...??

She could probably give BJs if she is not infected, but I don't think it would be a good idea for him to go down on her if he is still infected.

Of course she isn't happy with the fact that the "loving" can only be one way at the moment however she doesn't mind BJs... so she's happy she can do SOMETHING. Yes, she refuses to kiss him now... yet he's happy he's still getting BJs so he isn't too concerned about that She's all clear... no symptoms.. healthy.

Phew... even I learnt something from all this :
