Hey, does anyone else here like comic books? What are some of your faves?

I used to love comic books. I still read a few sometimes but not like I did years ago.

Eons ago I used to read comics. I stopped about the time Sandman Ended. Actually, I stopped reading when The Kindly Ones arc began. Moved overseas and it was far too expensive to keep up.
Used to read some web comics, Megatokyo, TA Vision, Sunday Morning Coffee.
Still read a couple of web comics, every fortnight or so.
Strange Candy is still one of my favs. www.strangecandy.net.
Also enjoy Hello Cthulhu from time to time. http://www.hello-cthulhu.com/

I used to read Cry For Dawn and X Men... and quite a bit of manga. Now I'm a web comic junkie.

Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."

Don't get me started on the Manga.... I think I could fill in a whole post with just titles... well not that many, still....

Moreso than you would ever want to know.

My all time favorite is the old Batman comic called "The Dark Night Series." It was so.....dark....mean...gruesome....I really enjoyed the way it was done. Batman Begins was the closest any comic has come to being dark enough and enjoyable for me, short of Sin City, which is just ridiculously great. What's really cool is that at the beginning of 2007, Christian Bale is starting up his reprise role in the sequel to Batman Begins....and yes...it's "The Dark Night". WOOOHOOO.
Short of that, I enjoyed the basics when I was a kid. X-Men, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and a few others. Always superhero types. Never liked Superman, though. He was either way too powerful, or just a putz
EDIT:
OH OH...and The Tick...I loved the Tick!
"The problem with the world is that everyone is a few drinks behind."

I loved Preacher, Sandman, Shade, the Invisibles . . . Watchmen was excellent too. I don't keep up with too much right now, though.

You get death groupie boys???!! Cool!
/me hands Paige a Mallet of Destruction +20 That will keep them off you.
Actually the only collectable from the Sandman series I would never get rid of is my Death statue. Example: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sandman-Death-St...QQcmdZViewItem

I liked Ghostworld. And The Bondage Fairies - they are sick, but so darn cute.

Preacher
Asterix
The Adventures of TinTin
Transmetropolitan

Milk And Cheese, bitches!
Old Batman, X-Men, Spiderman, Alpha Flight, etc. I still have the whole Secret Wars collection.
I was also really into Savage Sword Of Conan when I was a wee lad.
waffles are just pancakes with little squares on them.

Arsenic Lullaby.
Doug is the fucking bomb.

I'm Japanese, so I was raised on manga. I could fill a dictionairy with y favorite titles.
I do love Neil Gaiman's graphic novels as well as the Flight series coming out from Random House.
I don't even really know where to begin. Suffice it to say, yes, i'm into comics.

I'm a trade kinda guy - I don't have the time or money to get issues each month. That way lies madness.
That said, I've picked up all the Fables trades and really recommend that series. I also like 100 Bullets and The Walking Dead. Oh yeah Brian Vaughn stuff too like Ex Machina and Y the Last Man.
I'm also digging the Showcase collections by DC.

I love the New Catwoman
This comic Route 666
Bone comics were the best... I own the books....
Strangers in Paradise
I like the Lisners art.... not crazy about the story... (I met him at a Comic Convention.... He looks like Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons)
Bondage Fairies now that's perverted!! Not that I would ever know.Originally Posted by Jenny

Another one I really liked:Beautiful Stories For Ugly Children.
And yeah, Mast, I met Dorkin too. He was a bit of a dick. Oh well, I still have my Milk & Cheese lunchbox. EVERYONE BOOZE UP AND RIOT.

You have a Milk & Cheese lunchbox? Wow! I totally would want to sit next to you in the cafeteria. Dairy products gone bad!
Count me in as another Sandman fan. Fanatic, actually. I love pretty much everything of Neil Gaiman's - "American Gods" has to be one of my all-time favorite books. Loved Milk & Cheese, liked Love & Rockets. I appreciate the American Splendor series, but can't say that I ever devoured it the way I devoured Sandman. Let's see, what else . . . Hothead Paisan (Homicidal Lesbian Terrorist) cracks me up. And as a Buffy Uberfan, I can't help getting a kick out of some of the comics. In fact, I wrote some fanfic (now I'm really writing 'GEEK' on my forehead) that I hope to one day get illustrated . . . Oh, and of course Watchmen and V for Vendetta are brilliant: all the mad genius that is Alan Moore. Sandman remains my favorite, though, by a long shot.
