CK, you had mentioned a few months back moving to Atlanta.
My take is that living in Cincinnati is your problem. To make a living in this business one needs to be where there are a lot of strip clubs which do decent volume and offer the type of dances guys are willing to pay for and that most dancers are willing to give. Also the clubs should be of the full bar variety.
I know you have family in Cincy, but if it were me, I would consider skipping this semester in college, traveling around to different cities to dance, and by Thanksgiving moving to the city that has the most promise for you, and transferring your credits to a university in that town.
Every place does not have the same energy for every dancer. Plus being black, you really need to find your niche. Dancing is a good business to be in for a college student, but you've got to be in a city where getting hired in a decent club isn't a problem, where having a black booty isn't a problem, where dancers can play whatever music they like, and where there is enough of an older clientele who likes black dancers so that you can compete evenly with white dancers. Also you want to work where there are no schedules, so you can work mas much as you like, and be able to take off when you have exams.
Cities such as Indianapolis, El Paso, Tucson, Phoenix, Atlanta, just to name a few are places that could work out. Chicago doesn't have very many clubs for a metro area of 8 million + people. It may be hard for you to get hired at the good ones there.
CK, you have been dwelling on moving for the longest time. Just think, if you had moved on 6 months ago when you were contemplating it, how much farther along you would be now.![]()
