Default any flight attendants who strip?

    OK, here's the explanantion.

That's my dream job, but all this talk of a background check has me worried about even trying to dance.

So, does anyone say know if any flight attendant friends were dancing before they got a job and if dancing would show up on a gov't check?

Not from reporting it as a credit reference but from the club checking ID SS# etc.

    Thanks.

I knew a girl, who stripped and then became a fly attendant. i didn't hear any trouble with that. she went to some sort of training and then they hire her, after this fly attendent college or whatever it was.

I knew a flight attendant who was also a stripper but it was a long time ago. She did get nailed for tax evasion--she got caught when her investments made a lot of money. But she never had a problem with her stewardess job.

I have a friend that was a flight attendant, I don't think she had any problems with it conflicting with being a stripper.

Nikki who works at Browns in London still works part time as a flight attendent see www.superstripper.co.uk . When she started stripping 4 or 5 years ago she was a full time trolley dolly but now it's only occasional.

This is especially interesting if anyone got their Flight Attendant job after stripping.

They do a background check and I'm wonderingif it shows up if they would care. Thanks for all the info.

I feel I was meant to do both...

I used to be a flight attendant before I stripped. The money was awful and you had no life, about 20 nights or more a month your alone in some town [too tried to sight see and to broke to eat out. I used to steal the food off the plane and take it back to my room.]. You have to plan your social life a month in advance cause its hard to do anything with even a weeks notice. I did enjoy it but I was young and wanted to have a social life more. A few years ago I applied for JetBlue and was called back for an interview, they are real tough now on background checks, real tough. I put down cocktail work but then they asked what kind of club it was, I had to tell the truth, well their owner is a major Mormon, I could see just by the look in her eyes that wasn't going to fly. They never called back. Its a very competitive field, they want professional type of people because you are their biggest spokesperson. Also they do major drug tests, first before they hire you and then random surprise ones all the time. You might want to try one of the commuters, like American Eagle or United Express, they are easier on hiring. I think its easier to be hired first and then become a dancer because they dont check your lifestyle then. I'm trying to become a corporate flight attendant, its going to take me awhile [you need certain licenses, culinary background, a few languages and US citizenship].

    Oh my God girl!

Yeah I know how it can suck...Did you ever take advantage of travel or was it too tiring?

I'm thinking it's probably best to get the airline job first, because people judge and they're looking for "professionals".

What airline were you with if you want to share?

United. If you do take advantage of flying perks, you'll never be home and living out of your suitcase and uniform. I did that for a few months and my family got mad.

a good friend of mine stripped then went to work for united.

background checking, like anything, all depends on how well you cover your tracks. there are always people willing to say... 'oh yes, miss x was our coat check girl.... yeaaah.... coat.... check'. (checking coats for money more like). lol.

she got her 'agents' to be a reference for her and naturally, they lied through their ass. she also put me down but they never called.

incidentally, she flew for a bit, hated it and quit to do internet things.

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering how to cover my ass, so to speak.

I'm terrified that during this background check they'll also find out I did phone sex. It was Independent Contractor status too. Does this stuff show up anywhere?

Like did your friend report that she worked for the club and that's how they knew or did they find it in her Social Security files.

I want to leave the phone sex out. It was only a few months, shitty pay too of course.

What do background checks find out if you know.

Thanks you guys for all the help.

if the employer has created a tax record for you, and you have lodged your return, then someone can find it.

given the shitfight that is airline security, especially since what happened in the UK last week, i just wouldn't be fucking with them at the moment. it's just not worth the stretch. stripping is not exactly terrorism though. i'm sure they'd be more interested if you had a basement full of chemicals and a pilot's licence.

if it's really your passion, then you'll just do it and that's that. otherwise, think about whether you want to weigh in to a business that is terrified out of its wits.

My twin sis is a FA ~~ jobs are hard to come by, the economy really hit the airline industry hard.

With that said a few airlines are still hiring of course. I know that my sister's is, which is Omni International and I think one of her former one's are which is Ryan International out of Rockford, IL. The best part of being a FA are the benefits if you can get them, money isn't fabulous but it has different perks.

I do want to add that she got hired at United 3 years ago and is still on the waiting list. So the bigger airlines may not be hiring but you can always start with a charter.

And as far as resume issues, they go back ten years usually. My sis worked at a club in Wisconsin and she just said she was a waitress.

    HTH!!

I was thinking I wanted to be a flight attendant but now I am not so sure. Doesn't sound that inspiring anymore. My plan was to say I was selling stuff on Ebay or supplying resellers or something, stay at home mom, whatever... I mean rather than saying my job experience was working in a strip club.
