Default Looking to get back into dancing after a short hiatus...

I haven't been dancing for about 7 months now, but money is kind of low and I would really like to save up approximately $10,000. That would cover rent, basic living expenses and the tuition fee for an amazing makeup school in the city that I'm DYING to attend.

Previously, I danced at a club in Tampa and when I moved back to New York I got hired at Scores. Some of you may remember me asking inane questions and asking for advice...a lot. But hey, I guess that's why a lot of us are here!

Basically, I was really unhappy at Scores, but I wasn't sure why. It was a completely different atmosphere from the club in Tampa and a completely different level too...but go figure, I found Scores to be a veeeery cold, stiff and BORING kind of environment...it definitely doesn't live up to the hype, at least not for me. Then again, I didn't exactly stick around long enough to really get the feel of the club, so I might just be talking outta my ass here.

Anyway, getting back to my point - I'd like to find a club that a) is preferably in NYC, b) is a bit more lenient than Scores in terms of dress code, c) doesn't require a perfectly honed hustle - I'm a really shy person by nature. I have no problems with performing on stage or doing the lap dances or even talking to the guys, my problem is just going up to the guys and anticipating them saying "no." Going up to guy after guy without much success can really wear me down on certain nights, which leads me to only go up to a few guys and pretty much kills my chances of making a good amount of money. It's a stupid issue, but there it is.

Any advice as to what I should do? For those of you girls that took a break for a while, how did you get back into dancing and was it an easy transition or did you have to get used to it all over again?

Two other clubs you should consider are Penthouse and Hustler. However, sorry to say, but all the better clubs in NYC are going to require that you hustle your butt off to make money. The best clubs will have the best dancers, so that equals to greater competition. I should forewarn you that Penthouse has a LONGGGGGGGGG wait list of women wanting to audition. That may be the case with Hustler too. However, there's a member on this board named NYChaos99 (I think that's her name). I believe she works for Penthouse. You may want to contact her to get the inside scoop if she's willing to talk to you about it.

I've actually talked to NYChaos99 about Penthouse...but I'm pretty sure that it's 21 to dance, so that's out.
