    Default Blacking Out

I really thought I made a thread about this already. Went to look for it and it wasnt there. So.......

I found this website that goes in depth to what blacking out really is and how it effects you from all angles. Personally, I have a problem blacking out easily. It can happen at 3 drinks or it could happen at 7 drinks. Even if I eat before it still happens. I only deal with it by hanging around people who I trust if I blackout. When I work at a stage club I don't drink more than one drink if at all. Its not too bad though I have someone drive me. Although, I have driven before under a blackout and not know till the next day when someone tells me I drove - not anymore. I only get very sexually agressive or fall (which is rare). Anyways this all had a point - take a look at this interesting alcohol research website funded by Duke University. Maybe some of you out there are looking for answers like me.

I've only blacked out twice - once I was in mexico and got reallly drunk and woke up in my bed the next day (I live four hours from Mexico) and have absolutely no recollection of even coming back over the border. The other time I woke up at someone elses house in someone elses clothes on the floor in the bathroom. AwKwArD. This can be scary.

I blackout when I drink too. I don't really drink very much, like TigersMilk said it could happen after 3 drinks. That is an interesting article.

it's only happened to me a couple of times...

first time was in college...me and some friends drank...i passed out, then woke up, and my roomate had put on a bonanza marathon (god knows why)...i couldn't move for a couple of hours....drifting in and out of consciousness, mostly in (unfortunately) with a headache and a neverending country western tv show being played loudly.

second time....years ago at a club where i was dancing...a xanax bar and several drinks= bad idea, i passed out for 6 or so hours, friends stayed with me and i woke up in a white costume.

i don't drink heavily anymore, if at all, so no blackouts here. but i agree, it is a good read. shows how different people's responses can be to things like alcohol. a little bit of alcohol knocks some out, others drink tubs full.

OMG. I worked with a blackout alcoholic dancer. She was as sweet as pie when sober but a violent nightmare when blacked out. She told me she beat one girl so bad the puddle of blood spilled stained the cement under the dressing room carpet. She beat another girl but I wasn't working that night. LOL I got along great with her & am glad for that.

Don't drink that much....Alcohol is a literal poison in high doses...you might as well shoot up some PCP....

Yeah, if it does that to you, then don't drink.

Dave Atell calls these blackouts "time travel." He goes, "You know what I mean. You're in a bar, you're drinking, you blackout, you wake up, you're in another bar, you're drinking, you blackout, you wake up, you're in McDonald's. Working there for three years and STILL not assistant manager."

I don't drink hardly ever anymore, and if I do it's only til I get a buzz. When I was younger I always used to blackout. I'd be up doing shit, but I could never remember. It scared the fuck out of me cuz I'd be talking to someone and they'd tell me that I did this last night, and I was like What?! I was in bad situations way too many times and woke up not knowing, so no more drinking for me

If it makes you black out, your system can't process alcohol for whatever reason. That's really dangerous, I'd treat it like a severe allergy and avoid alcohol entirely.
