Hey girl! You need to call me!!!!

Check this out.
I fly in that morning(moving to Vegas). I'll be there applying for cocktailing. Any pointers for a newbie to the area?

I'm new to the area, I've bartended but never cocktailed before, and I'm STILL unsure about the whole "work card" situation. Will the competition be so high that I shouldn't even bother or do new club like girls fresh off the bus?
I've got more questions, but this is a start.
As far as I understand, waitressing at a strip club is not as good as at a casino. Why would you choose to waitress when you could bartend? All the waitress' I know are working to try and be a bartender. I wouldn't worry about competition if you are good. Just go to every place you want to work and apply, don't be shy or you'll never get hired anywhere! Do you have a strong resume?
Another thing I've noticed at a lot of strip clubs is that waitress' come and go very quickly here in Vegas.
Before you go make sure you have no legal shiite hangin around cuz you will have to get a sheriif's card, if you bartend with gambling then there is another card and possibly even a health card. I dj'd so didn't have to get anything but a sheriff's card but couldn't get it till a place "sponsored" (gave a written intent to hire) me. Just givin ya a heads up cuz ya can't get a job there till ya got your cards (NOTE; read and follow their instructions cuz they can make your life hell if you don't). Also, read some of the past posts about Vegas cause while it is a fun place it can be very difficult on you, especially as a single woman. (Hell as a single anybody..be careful who you trust!!! GOOD LUCK ..wish you the best.

I just wanna make cash right away. Not much savings. Will apply to casinos and hotels later. My savings is VERY low, and I thought a StripClub wouldn't have a 2 week process before I could make money. If this is not the case, please let me know.![]()
You'll still need to get your cards together!

Cards won't be a problem. Will get them as soon as off the plane. I would LOVE to bartend but not confident about getting hired right away.
Don't hold me to this but if cards are a problem, go see how the women dance at Striptease or Larry's Villa (they might have an ameteur night dealy thingy wink wink nudge) you might earn enough prize money to keep you going till you can get your cards.

I don't dance. I can barely touch my toes sometimes.Originally Posted by DJ Maimed

You would need a sheriffs card, a health card, and a TAM card( alcohol card)
To get the sheriffs card, you go to the police station and get fingerprinted. It cost around 60 bucks.
The health card you need to get a hepatitis A shot, watch a video on safe food handling, and your done. The TAm card is abotua 4 hour long class on alcohol. After the class, you get the card. The sheriffs office can be a long wait, the health card is another wait, and the TAm you need to schedule the class.
In order to get the sheriffs card, you need a referral, which means that you go to the place you want to work, they want to hire you, they give you the referral paper, and then you can go to the sheriffs office.

If you have never cocktailed before, it may be harder to get a job ina stripclub as opposed to a casino. Some casinos will trian you with no expeirence, including some of the good casinos, I know Hard Rock and Paris will hire with no experience, strip clubs are harder because you need to know bottle service, different champanges, and different liquors. As a bartender, you probably know about the liquors, but possibly not about champanges and wines? However, as with anything in Vegas, if your hot, you have a better chance of getting hired anywhere. You might also try being a shot waitress or a beer girl at some of the stripclubs or night clubs. I am thinking beaches night club has both

Luckily, my bartending experience required me to learn about wines (esp. French) and champagne. I've been a waitress for over 10 yrs and a bartender for 2.Know all about bottle service and stuff.
You all have been EXTREMELY helpful. Can't thank you enough!!
See you when I get there!!!

I think one of the most important things that an employer loves is an employee who knows how to upsell! If you know alcohol real well, you should be good at this!

back to minxx -
is anyone planning on dancing there? i want to check it out.
I hear it's going to be a gown club, I don't know anyone who has shown interest in working there yet. I don't think they've officially put out the word for dancers yet.
