    Default strange text message

I just got the strangest text message. It said: "Hey...I was looking thru my phone and I don't recognize this number. Who r u?" I texted back, "who the hell r u and why do u have my number?" I decided to call the number and some guy answered. I asked if he's ever been to the club I work thinking he may have gotten it there and he said he was there last Saturday night, which I wasn't. He said he remembered getting a number there from a female customer and he thinks its my number she gave him. She claimed to be my cousin and apparently, just got out of prison. Well, I asked if she's a white girl and he said yeah, then I said then she's not my cousin cuz I'm Mexican. I find this whole situation really strange. I mean, I have NO idea who this weirdo girl is and why she would do that. So I told him that my boyfriend is a cop to scare him and that I would have him look into it. He apologized right away and hung up! WTF! It's kinda creepy actually. Just thought I'd share.

He might have gotten that cell number before it was assigned to you. Some cell companies "recycle" old cell numbers- (mine was recycled within 4 months of getting a new number.)

That's kinda what I thought. But this "cousin" of mine knew my real first name. I'm thinking maybe it's some bitch who doesn't like me or something and was hanging out in the club as a customer. I think me saying that my boyfriend is a cop scared him (hopefully)

If I do not recognize the number I do not pic it up nor call the number back. Change your number if you feel that you should. Maybe you should change your voice mail intro. I had one of my guy friends leave the deepest voice he could do.

I never reply to numbers I don't recognize.

Setup your phone to ring a different tone to unknown numbers. Then you know not to check it without looking.

Yeah, a lot of times when I don't recognize the number, I don't answer. I should've ignored it, I wouldn't be so paranoid about it. Changing phone numbers is such a pain in the ass! But i'll do it if I need to. I'm gonna wait a few days and see if any more weirdos call or text me, I'll have to change it. See, on my voicemail intro, I say my full first name, not my nick name like this guy and "cousin" knew. I wonder if they can find out my address thru my phone # on the internet or something.
