So how many people here live in H-town? What about it do you like and what don't you like? It can have to do with the clubs or just life in Texas or Houston in general. I'm just curious. I love it here.

I like it here.
Love: food culture diversity. After moving away and living in smaller towns, I have to say I also enjoy the anonimity
Hate: Traffic (living inside the loop helps though), the pollution

i like it here in HOUSTON. great city ,even greater sc's but i hate the term h-town. it is mostly used by illegals who hate this country & want to turn it another version of the 3rd world slum they came from.

Tell us how you REALLY feel! LOL!
Ummm....illegals tend to call it Yu-ston, since the H isn't easily pronounced in that structure in Spanish. The rest of us always called it Htown. I've been gone for almost 11 years now, but I really like restaurants, being able to smoke in bars, shopping, the Museum of Nat Science/Fine Arts, and of course,I love the HOUSTON FUCKING ROCKETS!!!!!
Hate: it takes forever to get anywhere, and there weren't that many fun, classy things to do growing up, the city has come a long way.

Loved the strip clubs even though they are known for being "extra clubs" there is still LOTS of money to be made and most are upscale since Houston has a very large white-collar clientele.
Hated the traffic. Hated the population. Hated hot & humid Summers.

totally flat. a hill or mountain would be nice.
hot. hot.
not as well planned out as some other towns.
some people criticize it as strip mall hell.

i wouldn't expect someone who doesn't have to deal with savages for 8-12 hours a day to have a clue about their real behavior & what they really think us. so telling you how i realy feel would be useless. i can also count on one hand how many times i heard the term h-town spoken in fluent english in the last 10 years.Originally Posted by Deogol

you may all go back to your sheltered lives now.

Wow... I didn't expect my thread to take such an odd turn. lol. Sorry Dippidy Redneck, but I mostly heard the phrase h-town used in a humorous way back when I was in college. I didn't know it was a code word in the "illegal invasion." Oh yeah, one thing I don't like about Houston is all the rednecks out here. Sheesh.

I'm a Texas Native. I'm also college educated, well-spoken, and causasian. I have always heard and used the term "H-Town" (as well as "The Big D") and it has been contextually endearing rather than derogatory.

Great place for SC fun
I date strippers, especially if they love to model for me.

I DISlike the constant horn honking, the always construction, and the me getting lost every ten seconds.

Houston has an excellent freeway system, so long as half the city isn't using them all in one direction at the same time.
