    Default wisdom tooth

Okay, so, my top two wisdom teeth have been completely in for a year or two. The bottom ones started coming in. The bottom left has now decided to give me hell. I have been taking Advil for the swelling and trying to eat the softest food possible. I also have been using a topical numbing cream. I don't believe there is any infection as I have no fever. It is pretty painful but bearable. Should I just wait it out since I don't have insurance yet? Anyone with any advice or experience on this situation would be greatly appreciated.

It's better if the teeth erupt because the dentist does not have to "dig" them out of your gumline. It'll heal better.
If you're in serious distress, find someone to extract one at a time, starting with the most painful. Good luck.

If they are giving you pain, they could possibly be impacting which could push all of your other teeth together and your teeth will look pretty messed up. I really advise you to go get an xray taken and have the tooth removed before it ruins your smilie.

My teeth still look fine. I have been pretty blessed with straight teeth. The pain isn't too bad probably a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 and a bit worse at night. The Advil works great though at diminishing the pain. I am going to try to wait it out as long it doesn't appear to be pushing against my other teeth to hard or get infected.

You really should have them looked at. I let mine go, as I was having minimal pain. I ended up loosing the wisdom tooth and the tooth in front of it, and I had to have those two removed under sedation. The other three wisdom teeth I had removed a month later and I just used the lidocane, and drove myself home after. Big Diff in the pain and recovery. I had to have an implant put into my jaw, or be missing my back tooth forever.

All four of mine are in and as "normal" as can be (though they did push the other teeth forward a bit). None of them were seriously painful when they were growing - nothing worse than a canker sore. I'd see a dentist if I were you (I saw a dentist about mine, one I trust not to be the type who wants to pull them strictly for the money, and he said they were fine). I was also careful to brush them carefully as they were coming out.

By the way, they really are an artifact: despite mine being perfect, they're still useless in terms of chewing, etc. The bottom ones look nearly identical to the molars in front of them.

    Good luck...

Go to the dentist. I had that happen, and ended up with an infection. (I didn't have a fever either) They had to be pulled shortly after that. Always better safe than sorry

Well, bad thing is that I think I have an infection now but I don't know if it's related to my wisdom tooth or not. I got up vomiting this morning and thought perhaps I just ate something that didn't agree with me but since I have developed a low-grade fever and severe back and joint pain. I am suppose to go to Dulles, VA tommorrow for my first day on my new job.

Go get it looked at. I had a mid-grade infection in my bottom wisdom tooth and of all places to have infections, you don't want any in your head/mouth. If it's throbbing and hurts to eat, you most likely have some form of infection. The thing I found out was that no matter how good my dental hygiene was, food bacteria gets trapped in the skin that is broken around the tooth, gets lodged, rots, and causes infection.

    Not fun.

Go get it looked at. Get it removed. I failed to do that when I should have and now have to deal with braces to get my teeth straight and my bite realigned (it's not BAD, but it definitely needs some help).

Absolutely, get it looked at. It will not get better and if you have to get it done get it done now.
If it is coming in, it is pushing at an angle and will push your other teeth around besides all of the infections VG pointed out.
