My mother & I have always been super close & I always look to her for guidance in many of my decisions. Now, my mom is totally freakin' cool & very accepting, very liberal, very open-minded & all that good stuff but you never know what some people's quirks are gonna be, you know?![]()
So we went out for lunch today, picked up some deli food at the PCC and headed out for the lake. The whole time I'm nervous and talking about anything BUT what I want to talk about. My siblings, my dad, her work, her medical problems, etc. We sit down at a picnic table and in a lapse of conversation I just blurt out, "So I'm gonna be stripper."![]()
I don't think I looked up for at least 30 seconds which is a long time when you've just announced something like. She's chewing her food and looking very thoughtful. She swallows, and says, "Really? Huh." and takes another bite. Not quite the answer I had envisioned. Actually, I don't think I managed to envision any kind of answer before this. But . . . she was actually very calm about the whole thing and asked questions and I told her about everything I was doing to be as cautious & realistic about this as possible. She didn't seem phazed at all by it.![]()
She told me how she had been a stripper when she was 15 (which isn't surprising, my mom has had a hard life.) and she's not sure if anything's changed in the past 25 years as far as SC's go but she hopes so. Warned me to save my money, don't get involved with drugs, and know who I am from the start.
MY MOM'S THE BEST EVER!!
I'm so happy!!
Love,
Mandy
P.S. - LOL, she agrees that 3 months is too long to be doing a crappy job like waitressing but, oh well.![]()

It sucks but oh well. He hates the idea. But I really want to dance!! And I needed my mom to support me. 'Cause her approval is prolly way more important to me than it should be, lol.
