I filed for my passport today & I was warned by the sweet little old lady who processed the forms that my birth certificate might not be suitable for the State Department. She said she knew a woman who had same identical form I had (a photocopy of the paper certificate w/ an ink stamp from the Registrar's Office) & she had to file for a copy of the common (paper certificate) form to be approved.
My question is: if you had problems getting your Passport approved, was it from a problem such as this? Did the State department allow you to use another proof of birth form, such as a Church Baptismal Document or SSI card?
There's no harrassment going on here, just nitpicking on the part of the State Department. (Sigh) why does the government have to make everything so hard.......?
