Default Anybody have any info on Mini Face-Lifts?

Has anybody had one? I'm 28 and wanting to perk up my nasal-labial folds and my just-beginning-to-sag cheeks. I've had a few collagen injections for the nasal folds and I always LOVE the results. Too bad they only last a few months, and collagen injections do nothing to perk up the jowls. From what I hear, they call it the weekend, or mini-facelift. It uses a thread to pull up the lower face and can last 5 years or so. It uses a local anethesia, so there are no risks of being put under. And it supposedly heals in about a week. Sounds too good to be true! But that's all I could turn up with my googling.

I'd like some first hand, second hand, or whatever knowledge. I never trust the websites that are just trying to sell me something. Please tell me everything you know! Docs, prices, pain, results, complications, etc.....

    Dude,

If that's you in the little picture, you're probably fine the way you are, but don't ignore me yet...

Before you do surgery, please, oh please really see if you can do some healthy stuff for your diet and nutrition first.

I'm only suggesting this because you are so young for a facelift and anyway I've noticed going HARDCORE healthy is like a facelift. I'm just getting my new results.

I went on a bad year of crappy food and not drinking enough water. I wouldn't even look in the mirror. I'm a believer iin vitamins and water fixing your skin so I decided to get really healthy again and I swear it works.

This is it: drink hella water like a gallon or more a day, eat (mostly) healthy like fresh fruit/veg/herbs/tofu/brown rice/smoothies/homemade soup and past sauce. And take vitamins. I've debated the vitamin thing but food loses most of its nutritional value within 24 hours of being harvested, sad.

Also, I try not to use artificial stuff on my face like beauty products. Makeup a little but only natural homemade face products. or the organic kind that you understand every ingredient.

Maybe you're already a health nut. But I would try getting superhealthy. At 28 you are still so young it's too bad you feel like you should surgerize your face

yeah thats what i was thinking.. you're only 28 years old.. i can't possibly see why you would want a facelift... Now if you were maybe in your mid thirties i could see... That kinda freaks me out.. Im 24, which is not that far off from you.. I haven't even thought about having to do such things to alter my appearance yet..

I would consider other techniques like IPL or Polaris at your age, and microsuction if you have a double chin issue (but only do so after you've lost weight IF you plan on losing weight).

I've seen some issues with featherlifts, I would hold off for a few years until more verdicts are in.

Oh, and if you're looking for a lift in the eyebrow area, botox will give a nice lift for your eyebrows.

Thanks ladies. I'm a vegetarian with mostly healthy food choices, so the issue isn't diet. And you are right, at 28 I don't look like an old leather bag or anything. (Thats me in the pic.) This procedure, the feather lift, thread lift, etc. is a very light weekend pick-me up. Not a whole face overhaul like granny's full on face-lift. It's a genetic thing in my family that the cheeks are ever-so-slightly hound-doggish with age. I can see my self starting to look like my mom. I'm sure this is hardly noticable to others, but I can see that my jawline is not as tight as it was. It's not a double chin. Think of Katie Holmes... You know how she has those lines at the sides of her mouth? That's what I am talking about, except mine is not so noticable....yet! The lift I'm talking about is just to get rid of that.

I'm off to check the link that LoveSexMoney left, but any info is appreciated.

I prefer Polaris over Thermage- Polaris is newer, more effective and less painful than Thermage, from what I hear.

I would get a microsuction rather than a featherlift using the barbed threads if it's possible. I've seen issued with the latter.

^^ If I WAS to get one, I'd go with the newer contour threads ^^ over the over, blue featherlift threads.

Curl lift seems lke a great option, since they are also removable (unlike the thread or contour lifts that use cogs).

I don't have any good info for you Zabrina. But if you find a good option, I would love to know. I am 29. I remember when I was a kid, my mom's face got pretty saggy at 35. I see signs of it in my face now.

At 28? Please don't. You'll be glad you didn't in 12-15 years when you'll actually need to do it.

I'm off the mini-face lift idea. This pic of the thread coming loose and extruding from the girls face put me off the idea for good.

Thread lifts are not te best to get,you can feel the threads under your skin, and cannot have a regular face lift later on,from what my PS told me.

There are other options in mini-lifts,that are less invasive, and produce great results.
