Default DUI (Dancing under the influence)

I was just curious about how many dancers and drinking. Most of the women I know drink mostly to calm their nerves, especially when they have to go on stage.

Anyway, I was just wondering how much do you ladies drink while working? Have there ever been times where you or another dancer had too much? I've seen some dancers in the past that drank waaaaaay too much, and I've always wondered why they would get so drunk, especially when there are guys out there that might try to take advantage of them

depends on the girl and her mood

    I don't drink, but that's mostly because I drive.

I don't drink..because I'm underage, and I don't need to at the club I'm at, I feel comfortable enough to dance sober.

Yay for the stereotype that dancers are out-of-control lushes

Actually, I never drank heavily at work- (do you know how stupid it would be to drunkenly mis-lay a cashbox full of hundreds of dollars....? Lost or stolen in a minute.) I was also aware of the GrabbyHands Pervos (why do you think they buy you drinks? )

Some clubs pay dancers to push drinks, so some girls take advantage of it. It's that simple.
I knew countless binge drinkers in the military (tax free booze on base, nothing to do on the weekend.) It's not just us honied harlots....

I drink a little bit early in the night (2 - 3 drinks over three hours), but I always stop about halfway through my shift. Gotta drive home, ya know. Plus if I keep drinking and drinking, I'd rather take a nap instead of work. Naps don't pay the bills. :]

Most customers WANT you to drink. They believe it will cause the dancer to lose inhibitions and she will do more with them. I would have a couple of drinks, somenights not at all. Obviously, dancing for 8 years, there were a couple of time where I had a few too many. But for the most part, I would have a drink a couple of hours into the night because customers are boring, and the body gets achey from dancing. I never drank because I was shy or afraid of the stage. In fact, I loved the stage and the hustle, it was the best part!

Many customers will not get a dance with a girl that is not drinking, or that they think isn't drunk. Hence, its good to lie a little and act drunker than you are. So custy's, this is often what you may be seeing when a dancer proclaims she is wasted. But in my experience, many girls were alcoholics as well.

i have actually never had alcohol, and i'm 27! a few girls at my club would drink, but somewhere around 2-3 over 8hrs. tops. i have heard stories of girls being dancers just because it is easier for them to support their drinking habit, 'cause you can drink at most clubs, and even if they did lose some money during their shift, they'd still come out better than retail. maybe if girls need to drink to work....... they should'nt dance.

    AMEN!!

I drink at work only if I'm making money. That means I have to be in VIP. Period.

I don't drink at work either, but I do see girls getting shit-faced reasonably regularly at all three of the clubs I work at. I wonder if there's a correlation between us not being drinkers at work and being on this website. Sadly enough, quite a few of the girls I work with don't seem to have their shit together, while the women on here for the most part seem to be more like the ladies I worked with at the Lusty Lady in Seattle: not perfect lives, like the rest of the world, but not falling apart either. Not that all the girls I work with now are falling apart, but there does seem to be a higher percentage than in other groups of people I know. It pisses me off, because for years I've been arguing with people about their stereotypical views of strippers as drunks and junkies. Then I get to work and see girls getting shitfaced and doing coke in the dressing room. It makes me feel like a hypocrite all these years. I almost want to tell them they're giving strippers a bad name. I won't, but sometimes I wish I could. I didn't realise there was a drug problem at one of the clubs I worked at until I'd been there for almost six months. Stupid, naive me. I didn't find out until one of the girls I like working with best told me she was dealing. (Rolling eyes at self) On the other hand - things have gotten better with the current manager. Whew- look at me rant! Obviously it's something that still bothers me. My apologies. I guess that's what this site is for though. Thank heavens for SW.

It's easy to drink too much if you don't have to pay for any of your drinks.. I think that is a big part of why a lot of dancers get drunk during their shift..

At least that was my reason for getting drunk at work.

I know what you mean Minette. At my old club, everyone had their shit together. They were real businesswomen, buying real estate and investing their earnings. Then I moved and a lot of girls I work with are the alcoholics or drug addicts. It's not terrible, but it's far more prevalent.

I drink occasionally, but the past couple nights I haven't even had one drink. Mostly because I'm worried about all the calories, and you waste time sitting around drinking with people. Some of the girls I work with get so trashed after only like 2 hours, and I never see them dancing. I know they are there because of the free alcohol more than the money, it's kind of sad. Work harder, then you'll be able to afford your own alcohol on your days off!

I rarely have a drink at work, and have NEVER been drunk period. Most of the time I will just order a falsie if the custy wants me to drink. I see a lot of other dancers get trashed at work though.

It all depends on my mood. If I feel like having a drink I do, if not I dont. I've been pretty buzzed at work a cpl times in 5 yrs, but always when I had someone else to drive. When I drive myself...I make sure I am sober. Thats all I need to make a good night bad, or a bad night worse....a DUI. No thanks! Never had one and hopefully will never be stupid enough to drive drunk and get one.
People always ask me, did I ever learn anything when I was a stripper? Yeah, I did. One man plus two beers equals 20 dollars.

Just to add to my drugs-at-work rant. There was a used heroin syringe in the sink in the dressing room bathroom at the end of the night yesterday!

I primarily go to one club out of town when i'm on business. I know a few of the girls there and have seen them over the years develop serious drinking problems since it's so easy to drink everyday at no charge.

I know some clubs will have drinks made so the customer thinks they are buying a "drink", but they are virgin. I think this is a great way to run your businesses. Stay professional, straight up and your personal will be much better.

I now jump off the soap box!

I notice the younger girls getting drunk a lot, and then they go to the dressing room and bitch about how they haven't made any money. Hmm...think there's a connection? lol.

It was so funny. Once I told a customer in front of a girl that I quit drinking. She yelled, 'wait! All these times I had you come sit and drink with me, what were YOU doing?' I said, 'drinking apricot juice.' if a drunk stripper can't tell, a customer sure can't.

Geeze Minette...maybe you should just switch clubs? Cuz that's horrible.
Along with girls supporting their drinking habits, that's freakin pathetic!

Ok, so I am one of the "few" here that do drink @ work. But never ever more than three. That's my limit and I also always cut it off half way through my shift.

Maybe it was an insulin syringe. My doctor saves me money by having me inject my own birth control. Of course that's not one I'd do at work... But maybe insulin.
