    Newbie, thinking about dancing

    Hello girls,
My name is Nicole and I am contemplating becoming a dancer. I have a lot of questions but will look around and see if most of them have been answered first. But the Club I am applying for is looking for dancers which is not the problem. They will train me, but before that happens I have to audition. I have never danced before let alone take my clothes off so I am very nervous. They said that all I have to do is dance topless for two minutes and dance without my bottoms for two minutes. I have figured out what song I want to dance to. Promscious by Nelly Furtado. I have talked to a few of the strippers when I was there seeing if I would like to do this. They said they have a lot of fun and they would be happy to help me I just have to get past this audition. If you don't dance, how do you get a ryhthum down and learn how to dance. Any suggestions would be very grateful. I am already stretching at home and dancing around the house.

These girls seem nice, willing to help you out in such a way. i think that this will be a good environment to start out in. No one expects you to pick up everything on your first day, so watch, learn, and practice. You'll learn with time, and keep in mind that exotic dancing is, for the most part, different from dancing that you'd do in a club. You're right....many of your questions will be answered when you read the threads on this forum. Good luck!

The rhythm is the hardest part. Dance as slow as possible; try to find the backbeats that every song has and dance to them instead of the fast main beats.

I don't necessarily dance to the beat, I just dance slow and seductive and I also practiced a lot before I started working. When you dance pretend you're really horny and thinking all sexy and put a lustful, sexy look on your face, dance real slow, touch your body with your hands, run your hands through your hair, smile, etc. You'll learn and be amazed on how fast you do get it but just remember, do it slow, think slow motion because nothing screams newbie more than like club dancing, slow & sensual is sexy! Good luck and you will love it!!!! It's a lot of fun and the bonus, you make a lot of $$$$$!!!

GOOD LUCK at the audition. Just keep reminding yourself how hot you are and remember that even though getting naked in front of strangers is new to you, they are all used to it and expect it, so just keep thinking sexy and confident and it will show.

I don't strip, yet, so take this with a grain of salt, but I have been dancing (all kinds, ballet, salsa, hip hop, jazz, modern, and more) for a bit and dancing might be the one talent I am truly confident in.

Do a lot of exaggerated hip swaying and front-back, side-to-side circles with your hips. Make a wave with your body starting with your chest and going down to your hips. Promiscuous might be too fast of a song to start out with, you might want to find something with a slower back beat, if you are into hip hop, like "Pony" by Ginuwine, but I'm sure someone with better knowledge of music will suggest something better.

First, practice moving just your lower body while you keep your upper body still, this will help you feel out the movement. Make sure your knees are slightly bent or else you'll be awkward and possibly fall. Then work on the upper body, your main focuses are your chest and your shoulders. After you get those down, put it all together.

Also, general tips that float around are: EYE CONTACT, emphasis on EYE CONTACT. Smile, don't leave your hands hanging (touch yourself, depending on the rules of the club), most of all, LOOK LIKE YOU ARE HAVING A GOOD TIME. No one in their right mind is going to hire you if you look bored.

    Hope that helped.

    Hey Nicole,

Just wanted to wish you luck. Sounds like you're off to a good start and have met some friendly people willing to help you along. One of the best pointers has already been said, take it slow. Be seductive, and try to smile and make eye contact. One last thing to say is don't worry about looking too polished right off the bat. You'll learn as you go and get better and better as you go along. Besides, old regs like myself can usually spot a newbie and many will give a tip just to welcome you to the club. I say use your "newness" to your advantage!

(But do look out for some others who try to prey on newbies by telling them that certain things are the norm, when they aren't. Know the local rules, the club rules and your rules.)

    Best of luck!
