Default How often & What type of workout?

How often do you guys work out? I'm getting really frustrated b/c I usually enjoy working out, but lately I've lost basically all motivation. I'm eating more often than usually (though still relatively healthy), and exercise seems pointless because I've gained so much weight.
I usually switch it up, one day I'll jog or walk (depending on my energy). Another day I'll get on the elliptical and lift weights. -This used to happen about 4 days a week on average.
I do situps almost everyday. Usually between 100-500. I used to have a nice chiseled little stomach. Now I'm just bloated...and blahhh. Any thoughts?

I voted never because I don't work out at all except for dancing--which does keep me toned and thinner. But my sister is coming to live with me for a while and we are going to go to the gym and work out together. We are also going to cook and eat healthy. Unless I have someone else to be motivated with I am so lazy!

The best thing to do is find something you LIKE to do. It makes the world of difference. While it's nice to have a balanced plan of cardio, strength training and flexiblity something is better then nothing. And it's much easier to get your ass out of bed if you really enjoy the activity.

My main workout is horseback riding. For my sister it's tennis. One of the girls at work only does yoga and pilates. My best friend loves hiking.

So find something you enjoy and stick with that. Once you get on a roll, and are feeling more motivated then you can switch it up and add cardio session, strength training, ect. But you should always have that one feel good activity you can always turn to.

Exercise shouldn't just be about losing weigt and looking good. It should be a lifestyle, something that keeps your body healthy and even a de-stresser.

I bet there is something you used to love doing as a kid, or something you've always wanted to learn. Maybe you always wanted to learn bellydance or kickboxing. So sign up for a class, or buy a dvd. You can learn something new and have fun while working out.

i work out optimally 7 days a week.
i do 20 minutes on a treadmill min. a day 60 minutes max (personally)
    sometimes i get lazy though...
i'll go to the gym (my little apartment complex gym has worked wonders on me cause i usually have it to myself plus the nice walk to it and the tv. i cancelled my cable so i'll go to the gym more to watch my shows) do 20 minutes on the treadmill at a minimum of 4.0 (15 min. mile) and try to run at at least 5.2 level half the time or more.
then i'll do light weights(20-40 lbs) with lots of reps and alternate legs, arms, or arms+legs and sit ups usually 3 times a week as recommended but i usually do legs+arms and situps every day cause i like it for some reason.
then after my weights i'll get back on the treadmill or bike for 10-20 minutes.

i really really really hated the treadmill at first and stuck to the bike but now after a couple months of my working out stint i've found i really love it and actually find the bike kind of a drag, i get more bored i feel like i'm doing less and it hurts my butt cause the seats hard. and when you're able to run for a longer amount of time on the treadmill when at first 2 minutes winded you you feel an incredible amount of accomplishment.

i also feel like working out decreases my cravings for crappy food.

    sorry for the novel.
