    Is this enough?

    Hi im trying to lose weight and tone up...problem areas being my stomach, hips and inner thighs. I go to poledancing class once a week for 2 hours and i plan on doin tae bo 3 times a week. Is this enough exercise(to lose excess weight and tone up) or is there other stuff i should b doing?

    Working out is important to loosing wieght while watching what you eat is even more important. Do you mind sharing your daily diet with us?

    You need actual wieghts to tone up. High reps and lower wieght will help define your muscles well. There are alternatives such as pilaties to boost overall tone. Tae bo is great and pole dancing is better than nothing. Most suggest to lose wieght you must do cardio for 30-45 at 3 or more times per week.

    I've heard before that getting in shape is 80% diet and 20% exercise.

    yea i know its about diet too.....my diet has been really strange lately.......I drink a ton of water anway, but i cant seem to manage a full meal a day...my appetite has gone due to stress, but when im eatin normally i will usually have something like this;
    breakfast-cornflakes and semi skimmed milk
    lunch-tomato soup with one small roll
    dinner-usually some sort of pasta dish with tomato based sauce
    snacks r generally grapes.cheese and cracker

    i do tend to have a junk food craving at night tho like a couple of squares of choc or chips and dip(damn those) lol

    i've never been skinny, always had a bit of a belly and i dont mind bein curvy as i like that(i have an hourglass figure) but i just want to lose a little so i feel better about myself. im a uk size 14 not sure what that is in the us tho and would love to go down to a 12 or even 10.

    A lot of your food is really processed. I would say up your protein and green veggies and eliminate refined carbs. You can still have carbs, but make it like fruits and whole grains and have a few servings only...don't make them the main part of your diet. I'd have veggies, protein, fruit and grains in that order. If you're really wanting to drop weight, I'd say just the first 3 for awhile...

    You need alot more nutrients in your diet.
    *Instead of cornflakes try special K or Total with 1% milk (1% has more protein in it than no fat). Also, egg whites and whole grain toast is yummy too.
    *lunch: more protein such as chicken breast or tuna. Pair that with a salad with low to no fat dressing. Brown rice or veggies are great choices too.
    *snack: string cheese and an apple, handful of some crackers, non fat yogurt with bluberries and strawberries << you can sweeten it with splenda.
    *dinner: more protein + veggie such as green beans, sweet potato, salad, etc.
    *snack: green tea

    Youre UK size 14 is an american size 12. Also, if you can get your body fat tested properly at your gym. Another great thing is to keep trying different kinds of exercise and new food so your body doesnt get bored and adapt.
