    Default Upset or Happy?

Girl a bit back got me a dance with a guy. Actually, she got US dances with a bachelor. She didn't tell me until I PICKED UP MY PAY that she had undercharged the guy on purpose and I was only paid $40 for a 30 minute lapdance instead of $60. She said she wanted to sell so she cut the price (and the manager agreed!) and thought she'd tell me before I was surprised when I picked up my pay.

One: That means I sold TEN MINUTES for free.
Two She couldn't tell me BEFORE?
    Three: She could ASK?!
Four: But she DID help me get the dance (which I had a 50/50 of selling without her).
    Five: She undercut the club.

Should I be mad or what?!

I'd be mad, what if you weren't willing to undercut your price? She should at least told you first so you could make that decision instead of making it for you! I wouldn't work with her anymore!

I'd be happy to have the money at all, but I'd be mad that she didnt check with me first....

That's tough. On one hand, she helped you make $40, on the other, she cost you $20... Personally, I'd just take it for what it is and be very wary of her the next time she sells dances for you.

Yeah I ended up with five hours total that night lapdancing. I mean, it was a pretty busy night and I made a good amount of money. I guess I just feel if she had ASKED I either would've said Yes or gotten myself (like I did for the other four and a half hours) a full-price dance.

Yeah, I would be a little raise-one-eyebrow-ish about it, but probably wouldn't mention it unless she offered a similar situation in the future I would ask what she had charged for it. Does she know she could get in trouble with the club? No bueno.

No, the thing is, she ASKED the club and they said it was okay. Normally they DONT at ALL. And what bugs me as well is none of the management asked ME if it was okay to cut the prices as well and just assumed I had agreed to the price slash.

I have never ever ever before given a cheaper lapdance.

I'd be mad. Not mad enough to throw a fit about it... But I'd still be mad! ESPECIALLY if it were busy! Say something like... Yea, thanks for helping me out on that busy night, we sure did need to cut the price. Well, maybe if she brings it up...

everytime a dancer approaches me about doing a double lapdance, on my way over to the customer, i always ask how long and how much, girls always tend to sell themselves too cheap where i am so it's imperitive to ask. by the way, how's the outbookings lines suggestion i gave you working?

I would make SURE she knows that you are not happy and that you do NOT give discounts. Hell...technically since she didnt ask you first..she owes you $20. She's the one willing to give discounts..why shoudl it coem out of YOUR cut?(although she isnt going to..we all know that) But I wouldnt let it go...at least let her know that it is NOT ok with you.

The girl probably cut the price of the dance because she was unconfident that SHE couldn't sell the dances to the guy and she most likely cut the dance prices for herself too. Hells, maybe the reason she invited you to do dances was because you're hotter than her and she figured that the guy wouldn't be interested in her unless a hotter girl was there too? If that girl had to cut the prices of dances, she is probably a bottom-earner and has a lot of trouble selling dances. Generally the girls who make less money, are willing to work harder for less money because for them, money is harder to come by(In America, construction companies sometimes hire illegal Mexicans and pay them much less money than an American worker because the companies know that the money, although less than what they should be getting paid, is more than they'd make in Mexico...I believe this is called "cheap labor"?). You said that you were making money that night, doing back-to-back lapdances for the whole shift. If this girl had to cut prices, she probably wasn't doing very well selling dances that night.

How would I feel? I'd be a little annoyed. The girl probably had good intentions and didn't realize that you could easily sell yourself for a lot more than she negotiated for you and herself. I would consider her a bad business partner(but not necessarily a bad person), and not work with her again unless she point-blank told you the amount of time & money ahead of time.

She was way out of line in my opinion. Fuck that. I'd be collecting the $20 YOU ARE OWED. Fuck her...if she wants to undercut you and everyone else..what's another $20?
Whether or not you would of done it if she asked first is totally irrelevant.

I don't know if I'm prettier than her. She's blonde and weighs more than me but it's in a very cute way. I'm dark haired and do things more as sexy sultry not cute. She knew the guys previously, too. She had danced for them before at another club we worked at together.

I DO know she cut the prices for BOTH of us - not just me. BUT she did sell MANY less dances than me - she even told me at the end of the night how she was so jealous I did so well. She seemed to mean it in a nice way but I know I sold perhaps $300-400 more than her that night. At least $300, no more than $400.

I was going to ask her for the money back but she wants me to make her a dress - so I charged her $20 more than I would anyone else. Ha.

    Hi Lillthmorrigan
    Not a dancer, just a financial/investment analyst
1.So if you had a 50% chance of selling the dance the value / probability of the dance is 50% X $60 or $30

    2. You were paid $40 x 100% (you got the $$)or $40.

So from a straight investment standpoint, she made you an extra $10...
    ($40- $30)=$10.

How YOU feel about it is the real issue

^You're not counting time worked. I worked 1/3rd more than I was paid for 100% of every other dance I've given.

I kinda figured that much. Usually it's the girls who don't make much money(or don't know how to sell dances), that cut the price. She probably cut the price because the guy was reluctant to buy for the regular price, and she was desperate enough for any money at all.

Good plan! I think that is a very good idea, because it will allow you to get your $20 back but in a very discreet way. If the girl was cutting prices, can't effectively sell dances, etc...in my opinion she doesn't sound like the sharpest crayon in the box(I'm sorry if I sound mean saying this). I used to work with a girl who sounds similar to this girl, and she wasn't all that bright either(she's the same girl that I wrote about before, having a "pimpish" boyfriend who was mad because I wouldn't let her bring him along to strip club auditions with her and me). In that case, she probably won't realize that you're charging her more money than others.

What's with the hostility? Red voiced an opinion, take it easy.

It wasn't a mugging so is $20 really worth stressing out over? It's called choosing your battles. Lilith choose not to get uptight about it and an oppertunity arrose in which she is able to recover the difference.

I wasn't being hostile. I was simply trying to make a point. This would be of the battles that i would choose...otherwise you are sending out the message that you can be taken advantage of.....and in your place of employment..it will continue.
No she wasn't physically mugged but she kinda was.

Likening this instance to a mugging is ridiculous. The other girl had permission to undercharge for the dances, so she did. Lilith, not knowing this, did the dances with her and recieved the price the other girl, the customer, and the management had all agreed upon. It's too bad she wasn't informed, but the action taken by the other people involved was hardly illegal or violent, and the price discrepancy we're talking about is twenty bucks. I don't even see how this is considered being taken advantage of. It's not as though the other girl made more than her. If anything, the club should be blamed for giving anyone permission to do cut-rate dances... not the other girl.

Yes, everyone should be allowed to decide for themselves under informed circumstances whether to participate in cut-rate dances. I fully understand that's the ethical issue here. But when you put it back into real life, which is to say, the strip club... shit happens. All kinds of things are unfair. If you get worked up about every $20 you theoretically could have made but didn't, it's going to be a long night.
