Come on tell us how's the baby? How are you doing? How big was he and how long? How's the new big sister handling it?

Thanks, VG! I've only got a few minutes, but I'll give an update...
Hunter is doing very well. Like all newborns, all he really does is eat, mess his pants, and sleep. The first night home was really tough. He was up pretty much the whole night, so I didn't get much sleep. Dan felt pretty helpless because I decided to nurse instead of formula feed. But, he's been letting me take little naps in-between feedings, and he brings Hunter to me so I don't have to get up from sitting or anything.
But I seriously thank the Gods for Dan. He's goes back to work on Tuesday, so I've got him here until then. He's been doing everything around the house, and taking care of Delia so I can focus on the baby.
I'm in quite a bit of pain, but I'm hoping it'll pass soon. I'm trying to avoid filling the prescriptions for the pain medications because I just don't like them or how they make me feel (zoned out, stuffy headed, etc..) I dread going to the bathroom. The pain is indescribable.
Delia absolutely adores the baby. She always goes up to him, rubs his head, kisses him, and says "Awww he's sooo cuu-uute!". She's taken to him very well.
I'll post more pictures when I take them. Right now I really can't do much except sit. Walking around or standing isn't an option at this point.
I'll update again when I have a chance. I'm going to go cuddle up with him until he wakes up.
This is all so great to hear! I love the big sister bonding that's going on especially. Warm fuzzies!

Never look down on anyone, unless you are helping them up!
So sweet. I hope you feel a lot better by tuesday! and can get around with a little less pain. Make sure you're eating well. And I can't wait to see more pictures!I'm going to go cuddle up with him until he wakes up.
Thanks, Holiday. I broke down today and had Dan go fill the prescriptions. I needed the uterine cramping pills pretty bad anyway, so I had him get those and the pain pills. It's too bad that one pill doesn't last all day.. But, I'm using them only when I need them, when I'm most active.
Nursing is going.. eh.. He takes to a bottle much better, so I'm pumping pretty much exclusively now. I'll just bottlefeed the breastmilk to him. At least he'll be getting it, ya know?
That's about it for now. I'll check in again when I have some time.

Rhiannon,
I had to pump and bottle my milk for my first baby - she just wouldn't latch on. It's a pain, but it was worth it to get her those antibodies....
Congratulations and good wishes coming your way! Dan sounds like an angel, you lucky woman!
Thanks, Sassy. I was so disappointed with myself when I made the decision to just bottle feed, but I can't take the pain of him latching on incorrectly anymore. Not only does it hurt the boobies, it hurts the incision something awful. I cried about the decision, but I think it's going to be best for both of us. He'll be able to eat the way he does best, and my tatas will be pain-free again.
Dan's definitely a keeper. He's actually happy that I've decided to pump and bottlefeed, because, as I said before, he feels really helpless during the middle of the night feedings. He said that this way, he can take one or two early morning feedings for me so I can rest.
DW.. Thanks so much for your compliments. We're so glad he's here, and that Delia hasn't been affected in a negative way, she loves having her baby brother.
It's just funny, for something that wasn't planned, and something I wasn't really happy about at the beginning of the pregnancy, I can't imagine being without now.
