Default how to unhustle my hustle

Kittykats07 post's kind of reminded me of how there are always things to learn, and for me lately, I feel that my hustling looks too much like hustling. Now, it's possible that this is a Vancouver thing. I have said the same thing to guys in other places, and they eat it up, while in Vancouver, they look at me and think, "she's trying to sell me something".

Lately, I feel like my hustling looks too much like I'm trying to sell them something as opposed to, "I'm so interested in you, let's have some private time together". As a result, I think that I've been getting a lot of nos. What can I do about this? At this club, I don't want to spend too much time talking to the customers because most customers don't get dances. In Vancouver, private dancing is not the norm and lots of guys practically don't know what it is so spending time talking to them feels like a bit of waste of time. On the other hand, I think I could benefit from having a few good conversation starters that are light, not too serious, that could lead to bringing up dances, or at least could lead to opening them up a little.

Any suggestions? Good short conversation starters?

slow down, give yourself some time off if you're not enjoying your work, smile, and maybe give yourself an extra song or two extra lead-in time so the guys feel like you're willing to talk to them. Engage them with jokes, funky news stories, or interesting factoids. Ask about them, and then lead them in to your sale.

    "most customers don't get dances"

There's your problem right there. Relocate, start doing private shows or find a new club.

If the majority do not purchase a private/lap dance, then that is not your fault.... it is the club's fault for not making it more obvious to these guys it is that sort of club and to encourage that type of spending environment. I agree with Alexxa.... you need to find a club where patrons who patronage the club have a clue (basically know that lap dances are sold).

Otherwise, work on developing regulars if you do not want to change clubs for whatever reason. Looks like regulars are where you will make your money in this particular club not a "hit n run" sort of approach (quality over quantity).

If Vancouver is still like it was a couple years ago, the "private" dances are not particularly exciting -- they are podium air dances. And yes, I don't remember that very many customers wanted them.

As a customer I would be much more interested in buying time with you to have a drink and talk. Is that an option? If so, then the genuine "i'm interested in you" angle suggested by Guenevere and fancygirl would definitely be the right approach.

I remember going in some British Columbia clubs several years back where stage tipping and lap dances don't exist. It is a different culture there, and one that I feel is not conducive to making the best money as a dancer.
