Sad my foundation looks red in the under the blacklight

so i guess im not a particularly tan person--i pretty much wear the lightest shade of foundation cover girl makes. and for some reason, when im under the blacklight, my whole face looks red, like im wearing a mask or something..it's made me really self conscious while dancing lately. ive tried a couple foundations and they all seem to have this darkening effect in the blacklight, no matter how light they are. does anyone else have this problem? is there a foundation out there that won't do this?

that's your problem, you use cover girl...i have the same problem with cover girl. they put way too much red in it..if your naturaly pale. i stopped using it years ago because of this.

go with physicians formula, loreal or maybelline...i personlly prefer mineral makeup from smokymountainminerals.com they have a very light shade for those that are white! lol

Netrogena makes a mineral powder foundation too, you can find it at most department stores. I've never had that problem with theirs and at $10 a pop they are very affordable.

Are you using "extended wear" foundation? Most of those look darker or muddy under black lights.

If it's a really big concern of yours, ditch the cheap stuff all together and go to a department store. That way, you can get several samples from different brands and see what works best for you at your club before you make a purchase.

Yup, more expensive makeup usually has better quality ingredients, and will look better in an altered enviroment, like black lights, I'm very pale, and use the MAC stick foundation.

i used to use lancome and other department store brands a long time ago but thought that covergirl worked just as good for my skin. and it generally does, just not at work. i'll probably try and get some department store samples and see how they work out.
