my dad has pulled the grill into the garage when it's raining.

My stepdad and grandfather have grilled in the garage, too. As long as you leave the door open, she'll be apples. Enjoy your BBQ and make sure you have plenty of seating inside. With enough beer and steaks, no one will mind!
All the time.
And created an indoor grill, when the "man of the house" was comfortable listening to alternatives also.

It's about those moments which leave you breathless."

In NZ I just propped up an umbrella over the gril, as long as the wind was not fierce, it did fine. In Australia, as long as I could get it lit, I just did it outside. Of course you can't do that in a down pour, and you have to have the type with a metal rising cover.

I've grilled in the rain many a time (and snow, too, on a couple of occasions!) ... of course, there's 2 catches to that, and CRB already pointed them out: (1) it's rather difficult to actually *light* a grill in wet weather, and (2) it's generally very difficult to do anything at all if it's raining very heavily. The other suggestions as mentioned should work though...

Instead why not "pina coladas and being caught in the rain".... I couldnt help it! Try not to light the garage on fire and have plenty of ventilation. You should be here.... my perpetual summerland. BBQ on da beach!

Pina colada would be nice now.

MMMm^.
Anyway, I have grilled under an "overhang" roof outside when I lived in a former apt.
I grill on my deck w/my lil' cheapie grill from Walgreens. Unfortunately there's no overhang here, so I really can't grill in the rain. Good luck, & have fun!

I've grilled in the middle of Jan, in the rocky mountains, in about 6 feet on snow. That was fun!
