    Default Labor Day heart attacks

Just saw a new report proclaiming global obesity a "pandemic." (They claim 1 billion overweight and another 300 million obese worldwide.)

So, anyhow, was just watching TV & thinking about the tens of millions of fat Americans overeating at BBQs today, and I wondered: How many heart attacks will there be today, Labor Day?

Somebody must be keeping count. I seem to remember reading that more men (?) die on Mondays, the usual start of the work week. Given that, maybe the big grabber day is tomorrow, Tuesday.

Shouldn't shock anyone, but there was a study on the phenomenon of a single fatty meal affecting ones blood pressure and cardiac health. Check it.

before I was a dancer, I worked as a respiratory therapist and was often on the E.R. Code Team. Super Bowl Sunday usually ranked #1 for heart attacks, followed closely by Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July etc. Usual catalyst is too much alcohol + too much fatty food.

I just finished my shift in the ED. I think everyone in a three county radius came in.
