i love their buttershine lipstick in rum kiss and the soft shine lipstick in black violet. gorgeous shades that feel great on. their blushes (blushing blush and soft-pressed powder blusher) are very good. stay away from the facial skin care, though.
thanks ladies, i was wondering about the skincare also, and i have super sensitive skin!

I'm not a fan of thier skincare or color. The color line is hust not pigmented or long wearing enough for me. I also think the color range is too limited. As for the skincare, the #4 toner has acetone in it and the DDML basically has the same ingredients as Vasaline body lotion. But that's just my opinion.
I perfer MAC color and I'm curently using Origins skincare with the exception of Shiseido's eye cream.
mia m, do you feel mac is worth the price? do you have sensitve skin? does origins help dry skin?

Yes, it's worth it. You can also apply for a MACPro card which will get you 30% off thier products at MAC stores. has the info and the application.
As for my skin, no, I'm not sensitive. Only 10% of the US population is truely sensitive. Most people think they're sensitive because they use crappy/incorrect products.
If you are really a sensitive skin type, try Shiseido, ReVive, Nars, or any other technology driven line. Warning, the price may scare you a little. I am a fan of Neutrogena and Almay for affordable lines. However, there's no one availible to consult with and recommend proper products for you at Target. Also, stay away from stuff that contains (forgive my spelling) AHA, BHA, glycolic, retynol, salisylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, or any other type of chemical exfoliater. Avoid moisturzers with built in sunscreens. Instead, use a seperate SPF on top of your moisturizer.
If you find out you're not a member of the 10%, try Origins, Caudalie, or Kiehl's. All very affordable and effective for a dryer skin type. If you want the to really pamper your skin, La Mer is the way to go. Just be prepared to save up a little for it and make sure you're applying it properly. Use only one chemical exfoliator, either as a serum you use before your night time moisturizer, or find a PM moisturizer that contains AHA, retinyl, etc. Do not use it in conjuction with acne control and/or exfoliating cleansers and toners.
good cosmetics are often worth the price, and mac is amazing for long lasting rich pigments!
I love clinique for their blushes ans lipliners, but the lipcolors aren't good for me. The color line is limited, and many colors are matronly, imo.
thanks mia m, yes, unfortunately i am in the 10%. mainly because my diabetes makes it hard for my skin to retain moisture, therefore it over reacts to new stuff because ther's no "buffer" so to speak. "matronly",that's so funny lola rose, i know what you mean! i was using mary kay for my skincare, i find their makeup has no staying powder, no substance to it. they are more expensive than your drugstore makeup, but i find covergirl has better lasting power than mary kay. i know a lot of ppl that use mac for the name, like status.......oooooohhh watch as she pulls out her mac compact..ahhhhhhh heehhee

Yeah, I would laugh really hard at someone who tried to impress me with a MAC compact. I've worked in the cosmetics biz for eight years, MAC is not a luxury status line by any means. However, it is the best line I've found for makeup artists and entertainers. The pigments are vibrant, long wearing, and buildable. The color range also rocks, stuff for everyday as well as fantasy makeup.Originally Posted by obscurity
