    Default Morning Sickness, kinda

I don't understand this at all and was hoping for some advice, since this makes it really hard for me to get up in the morning. Even if I get enough sleep, I wake up feeling sick, almost nauscious (spell check wouldn't work for me), if I have to get up early in the morning. I know I'm a night person, and prefer to get up around noon, but not that I'm back in school, I have to get up between 7 and 8 in the morning, and I feel so sick when I have to get up that early. I went to bed at 10 last night, and woke up at 8 this morning, and I'm still sitting here feeling sick to my stomach. I'm not pregnant, and this happened last year too. Does anyone have any ideas for me?

well if your a postive you are not pg my best advice would be to see a dr this might be a syptom of a larger problem. Also you can keep crackers by your night stand you could also try the preo pops they are for moring sickness and might help you.

This happens to me. I get diarrhea too, as it triggers my IBS. It was especially bad when I was taking birth control pills. I had to take them in the morning so I'd remember, and since they'd be on an empty stomach with my already queasy tummy, I'd be vomiting. It's gotten much much better since I got on the Nuvaring.

I agree with honey. Maybe eating right away would help.

Or maybe it's all just in your head. You know, you dread waking up so early that you literally make yourself sick over it. Maybe once your body gets back into the swing of things, it'll get better on its own.

I had the same problem. It was acid reflux. I cannot eat four hours before bed. I took all dairy, citrus, onions, garlic, and anything spicy out of my diet. This seems to have worked, and I also take acidopholus suppliments. Have you been getting heartburn?

When I suffer that it's usually from low blood sugar. I just eat an apple or something I can tolerate, (apple juice, if it's really bad) and it usually settles my stomach.

Maybe you have some sort of anxiety. Are you nervous/worried about school etc...? It also could be the adjustment from being a night person to day a day person. I am a night person too. When I ever I have to get up early I never feel right until about 10 am.

It should go away when you get used to the earlier hours. It's like an almost jet-lag thing I think (I get it too when I have to wake up way earlier than usual...and eating would not be an option for me at that point because the thought of food would make me gag. If a person has serious nausea, eating will only lead to vomiting.)

i have a theory - because this will happen to me if i get woken at a weird time - and here it is: my theory is that since your body is doing all its repairing activities while you sleep, your hormones and body chemistry can go nuts because you're not awake to experience it; my theory is that if you get woken up during that part of your body's rhythm you experience those weird chemical fluctuations, making you feel sick.

that may also all be bullshit - but it makes me feel better when i feel like hell.

Thanks for the advice guys!! Hopefully I just need to get my body back on schedule. I don't have heartburn and I don't throw up when I wake up, I just feel very sick to my stomach. I'll try eating right away when I wake up- maybe that will help.

    Nauseated is the correct word.

What do you do BEFORE you go to bed? When I drink redbull the night before I always get sick. Do you drink a certain tea? Eat a certain candy? That's my guess.

I am the exact same way as you.I don't know what its from, but usually I wont feel right unless I go back to sleep right away and just go ahead and sleep to my regular time or if have to stay up- take a couple aspirin.Headaches cause nausea and waking up too early and trying to think will give you headache w/ nausea.normally for me the asprin will help with it,but take it w/ milk.

If I have to change my sleep pattern, this happens to me too. One of the biggest culprit, apparently, is lack of sleep combined with the new schedule. Are you getting enough sleep overall? It's common when you disrupt your sleep schedule.

Also, avoid heavy food before bed and eat something starchy when you wake up, nothing greasy.

I used to eat a bwol of oatmeal and take real ginger beer (non-alcoholic) and sip on that through the morning. Reeds is the best ginger beer, IMHO. If you don't like giner ale/beer (same thing), I would chew on some candied ginger. Ginger helps cut down nausea, and clear soda can cut down on upset tummies a bit. Avoid diet soda- apparently, they can trigger tummy upsets if your tunny is already upset, and aspertame is know to be a nerve irritant- not what you need when you're nauseous.

This happens to me all the time. All of my body's chemicals are dormant and not at an "awake-able" level so I get really screwy in the mornings. I set my watch alarm for half an hour before my actual alarm goes off so my body has a chance to "warm up" and start working so I don't have that nasty shock.
