Default the quest for the perfect deodorant

So, after years and years, my old deodorant (Almay hypoallergenic gel) stopped being as effective as I want it to be. I'm on the hunt for a new brand. Unfortunately, I’m super picky. I want something that doesn’t leave the nasty white residue on dark clothing or have a scent. Also, I want an anti-perspirant, and would prefer a nonspray. I tried Dove translucent solid unscented on a coworker’s recommendation. I ended up with white marks on my dark shirts and my armpits smelled like a baby powder bottle had crawled into them and died. Now, I’m using men’s Right Guard gel, sport fresh scent, after having tried a friend’s. It doesn’t leave any white marks, which is good, but initially there’s a really strong man smell that I swear the friend’s didn’t have. While it fades after a bit – I’m worried about reapplying at work. Somehow I don’t think that first blast of man smell is going to bring in the lap dances. Anybody have any suggestions? If I have to buy to many more deodorants in a row, I’m going to go batty! I don’t care if it’s a men or women’s brand, just as long as there’s no white marks or strong smell. Thanks!

No scent will be difficult. But I alternate between two different ones (depending on whether I'm in my room or in my bathroom, what can I say, I'm lazy!). Degree Ultra Clear and Dove Radiant Silk and they both rock my socks. They both have light scents that go away quite quickly. (The Ultra Clear leaves NO white marks at all.)

Dryol sucks though as a girl because you can't apply after shaving recently. I bought it and used it once before I threw it out because I only thought about using it after I showered, and then I couldn't.

I use mitchum for women, It goes on clear and dosen't leave white marks and I believe it comes in unscented. Also you only need apply every other day. I use it everyday though and skip on days I don't work, I never have to reapply at work, ever. And I used to have to reapply several times a shift. So I recommend it

Along this same line, does anyone know what deodorant won't make my friggin armpits glow alien green under blacklights??? Ugh.

I have tried several brands in the last year or two and nothing seems to change. Btw I also have a terrible time finding a deodorant that actually does any good for me in the antiperspirant department - and YES I buy the ones that say antiperspirant. I guess I have manglands

Where do you get Mitchum's deodorant?

I have heard good words about Lady Mitchum. Personally, I love Secret.

Secret does leave the white marks, even the clear kind. But it works for me as far as deoderant/antipersperant effect. So I just have to keep wiping the marks off or wear white shirts.

But anyway, Bridgette, I think you can get Lady Mitchum at any drugstore or grocery store. I have had other friends (dancers) swear by it. I never did try it though.

Or you can try men's deoderant. My little brother (he's about 20) stunk to high heaven. You know that nose piercing onion-like stink. We even asked him if he bathed. He claimed he did but could not find a deoderant that worked. I told him to get Old Spice cause that's what all my boyfriends have used. My mom immediately went to Walgreens and picked it up for him. And it worked. Now he doesn't smell. Just a thought. Men's deoderant may be worth a shot.

Well, I guess smelling like a man is better than smelling like body odor. But when I used to stay the night with my boyfriend, I would wear his deoderant if I didn't have mine. I only had a couple of customers (very few) hint about the man smell on me. I gave them a mischevious smile. I confessed to spending the night at my boyfriend's. And then I told them I love having MORE than just the smell of a man all over me.

Im picky as hell about my anti persprent and the only one i've found that doesnt smell funky or leave white marks and actually works is Addidas 24 hour 'fitness fresh'. It doesnt smell, it actually works and there are no white marks or 'clumping'.

I've never worn deoderant, b/c it gives me rasor burn (a also don't sweat in my underarm) I use a moisturizing lotion that doesn't clog pores, so the skin is soothed and has less razor burn on it. They also have deoderant alternatives you might like:

I've used that Addidas one & it smelled okay but I guess it wasn't strong enough for me. I'd be sweating pretty quicky. I used to use degree but then it just wasn't working for me. Right now I'm using believe it or a not a generic looking deodorant that I got at a dollar store & it seems to be working okay. I can't stand those gels.

I like the smell of many men's colognes. Once I was using a men's deodorant at the suggestion of a friend. Later that day I thought I smelled a really hot guy, turns out it was me.

I have good luck with the "mineral salt" deodorants. I found a good one at Walmart. It doesn't leave white marks and lasts for a long time.

So, what is it about deodorant and me that causes my pits to glow alien green under the blacklights??? Ph?

If I can figure out the cause, maybe I can find something that will help...

I never knew they even made one, but my best friend was on a rampage trying to find a new one as well. She got clinique's and says it's her new favorite. She's not a dancer though, so I don't know about the blacklight issue. Also, she has really sensitive skin and sweats a lot.

Bridgette I always glow too, especially when I use clear gels. Weird. Anywho, I've been using secret lately, but it hasn't been working for shit. I'll try and find some mitchum. I know that the drug store I used to work at carried it, but I haven't seen it since.

Certain Dri works pretty well - its a roll on antipersperant that you apply at night before you go to bed, and it lasts for 72 hours! It works very well. The only thing is, it does not contain a deodorant. I found this out the hard way....I was wondering why I smelled like ass, when I wasn't even sweating bad...

I use Old Spice, and I've never had a customer identify it as such. I get compliments on the smell all the time. A lot of guys aren't into the real fruity smells, I try to wear something musky, which goes perfectly with the orriginal old spice. Old spice also doesn't glow or leave white stains, and if you rub it all over your chest and boobies, noone will ever lick you twice!

I don't think I've ever looked at my armpits at work - I wonder if they've been glowing all this time, and I never knew it. Note to self - check in the highly black light lit lap dance area. Second note to self - figure out how to do this without the customer noticing.
I have to admit, the idea of deodorant so strong you only have to apply every few days kind of freaks me out. Granted, I only used anti-perspirant deodorant at work until recently when I got tired of switching back and forth between that and deodorant only stuff, so I don’t think I can make a jump to nuclear-force anti-perspirant right away. I think I’m irrationally afraid that years later my armpits are going to end up glowing when I’m not under black light. Although that could be quite the pick-up line, “Hey, come back to my place, baby; I’ll show you my glow-in-the-dark armpits.” Hmm, maybe I should rethink my stance on the super-strong stuff.
