I've been experiencing an odd pain on the top of my bridge of my left foot. Not on the underside of the foot, where my high arch is, but rather at the part of bump at the top of the foot closest to the toe. It's only in my left foot and it's been around for several months. It comes and goes and is never REALLY painful, but I notice it when I walk and I moreso worry about it. I wear a lot of flip flops, but I've also tried wearing my new balances (which are supposedly pretty good for high arches) a couple days in a row, and it didn't seem to make any difference.
The only thing I can come up with that my left foot does that my right doesn't is shift the clutch in my car. Other than that, since I'm dominantly right sided, my left is probably overcompensating.
How do I get a good opinion on how to get rid of this so it doesn't turn into nasty bone spurs or something similar? How much does it cost to get a consult with a podiatrist if one doesn't have health insurance?
Thanks.
