    Default Still Sore...

I've been working for like a month and a half now. 4 nights of the week.

I still get sore muscles and tired before and after my shifts. STILL.
At the beginning of thenight my muscles are cold and I can barely even squat down. It takes me a couple of hours to warm up.

Any of you ladies have the same problem? I don't if I'm out of shape cuz I wake up tired.

    Thanks

Agreed, hit the gym and start lifting those weights. Also stretch well before and after. A nice Epson salt bath after a shift couldn't hurt either.

One thing I keep seeing in fitness articles in magazines is that stretching is overrated unless you are trying to increase your overall range of motion. The way to make it feel like it's easy is to be used to doing more strenuous exercise than that, so that it really is less than you're used to.

The more you work the more you body will get used to it. Four nights a week is a lot on your body when you have not been doing that long. I just started dancing again after a 5 year break. I am working 5 nights a week and I feel your pain. I do take 2 advil before and after work. I also take a warm bath when I get home from work every night. I still wake up sore though.

I think soreness comes with the territory even if you've danced for a while. You're walking around all night in super high heels, dancing around, doing all kinds of moves, you're bound to be sore afterwards. I've been doing it for 4 months and still am sore and tired afterwards. I am going to start working out more at the gym to see if it helps but I really think it's the shoes we walk in that makes us so much more sore.

Naproxen helps a lot, but be careful not to take it BEFORE work, because you don't want to possibly disguise muscle injury/pain. That would make it harder for you to know when you are pushing your body too hard. Take it when you get home at night or even about an hour before you get off, if you think about it. Also, arnica gel works for sore knees/joints. Iron pills can help keep you from bruising too badly. Take good vitamins and soak in Epsom salts after you get home. One of the things that helped me the most was to ice down my knees/thighs when I got home for ten minutes each night before I went to bed. That helped more than anything else.

    Hang in there!

Make SURE you stretch after you do stage. My therapist told me that was my MAIN back problem. When you work out and don't stretch afterwards, your muscles tighten and refuse to flex.

    wow. thanks guys.

What bothers me the most about the dancing is the beating my ankles take from walking in those heels.
My joints hurt cuz they're not used to the weight put on them by those heels.

I started working out, taking protein shakes, vitamins, stretching, and joint supplements. I also try to keep moving throughout the night because if I stay still for too long my muscles get stiff.

Two words: Tiger Balm. It's like aspercream but WAY better. It smells strong but if you put it on 30 minutes after your bath or shower (after work, not before, or you will be smelling minty fresh!) it does wonders. HTH,

I always stretch my legs, arms, and stomach before I go to work. It helps so much and even gets me more flexible. Good luck!
