    Default Botox in arm pits

I saw on some sexual health show or something on discovery health channel, that if you get botox injections in your arm pits it can decrease your sweat

I have been battling with that problem every since women hood started. I have tried every dedorant on the market, now the point where I started using men dedorant. It's getting embarrassing now when my boyfriend comes over and he asks why do I have soo many bottles of old spice, and degree.

So I am thinking of seeing a cosmetic surgeon about getting botox in my arm pits.

part of me is scared of doing it just in case it does not work, and part me of me is scared to see if it will actually work, so I am still on the fence about this one

    Any suggestions ladies.

I had a friend who had that (I don't remember if it was botox or something else). I was always so jealous that she could wear those cheap polyester shirts and not sweat.

I have this problem too. Haven't tried the Botox, but a doctor told me that men's Mitchum clear deodorant was the strongest over the counter deodorant. I use it and it helps tremendously, although still not 100% perfect!

Good luck whatever you decide - I would be interested in knowing, too!

Botox works exceedingly well for this problem most of the time. I have the opposite issue (in fact, I'm very liable to suffer heat stroke as a result)... but my college prof apparently got it done about 4 years ago. He gets it sone once every 6 months or so, if I remember.

Botox isn't permanent, thankfully. I'd definitely try it!

I'd like to try it on my eyebrows. They sweat like crazy and it is really disruptive.

Dont get botox or anything in your underarms it can increase the risk of breast cancer to very very high! Not a good idea at all.

^ I wonder. I'm on the deodorant/breast cancer train (though I do still wear it), but I always thought it was more to do with the aluminum entering the body through microtears caused by shaving, than blocking the release of sweat/toxins (which is what the problem with botox would imply)?

I sweat like crazy, I'd love to do the botox thing, but I know I wont. I'll just keep sweating on people

Breast cancer risk is incresed by microtears ect but it is also increased by blockage of the sweat glands under the arm pit as the body is not able to eliminate toxins also it has an effect on the lymph nodes in the arms.

Be glad you're not Chinese. Over there, they would say you have the "fox smell" and you would be unmarriagable, unless your relatives took you to a doctor (who may or may not be competent) to have your underarms cut open in a maple-leaf pattern and your sweat glands removed.

I would just shower regularly and use deodorant and body spray. Botox scares me.

I know someone whose boyfriend had some sort of problem where he would sweat more than most people. I think he was going to get a surgery where they remove some of the glands. I'd check into that first before you try botox. I think there was an actual condition they diagnosed him with.

I shower, about 3 to 4 times a day, and more when I am on my period, mens dedorant does not work anymore, and as I get older it seems to be more of a problem, then today my hair stlisyt was telling that I sweat only on the top and back of my head which explains why my hair is always freezing out after i get my hair done.

It's being more of a problem wiht the sweat thing then wanting to get my breast done, I am tired of my boyfriend asking me if I showed todaty when i just took shower 2 or 3 by time he comes over to visit.

Breat cancer seems to be triggered by almost anything these days. I eat health, I exercise and I see my doctor regular, and there is not much left I can do about this sweating thing unless I get surgery or try botox, my mom get botox for the wrinkles she claims she has but she really does not need it.

But this sweating thing something need to happen and change before I get pregnant and my hormons are more out of wack , and of course before I get my next period would be nice but I would have to save up for botox or surgery, and being in this business where your body is your business.

This problem seems to be affecting my enjoyment with my customers. it kills the mood when I can feel swear dripping down my arm when I am about wrap my arms around a customer. I feel like runing out the room and jumping in the shower for the 5th or 6th time.

I do not know what else to do.

Try Certain Dri roll-on antipersperant. They have it at Walgreens for around $5 (I think they only have it at drugstores- I've never seen it at Walmart or Shopko). You only wear it at night, and you only need to roll on a little bit. You still use regular deoderant during the day (I use Mitchum clear gel), but the Certain Dri helps decrease sweating- I've noticed that it really has been working for me. That would be a cheaper alternative that you could try before you do anything drastic.
Take the road less traveled- just make sure you have a map.

Lady Mitchum is supposed to be an extra strong deoderant, "so strong you could skip a day" is what thier logo says. I've tried it, and get better results from good old teen spirit but maybe it would work better for you.
    But..
If you have sweat dripping down your arms in the middle of an air-conditioned club, that sounds like a real medical problem and not your typical-sweatier-than average problem. I don't think any deoderant will do the trick.
Are you exceptionally nervous when you get dripping sweat? Nervousness does cause an increase, so you may have an anxiety disorder.
Most likley it is hyperhidrosis, a medical condition, and you'll need to see a doctor for proper treatment. In this case you don't want to just see a plastic surgeon for botox. You should get a diagnosis of what the underlying cause of you hyperhidrisis is, that way you can treat the source instead of just the symptom.

i thought when you get botox in your armpits to decrease sweating that your body just makes up for it elsewhere so you may sweat extra on your nose or something. Also sweating is healthy, it is removing toxins from your body and is your own natural cooling system. I understand how you would want to stop sweating if you are doing it nonstop and if you are smelling, but be careful!

I LOVE Certain Dri. When I had my lipo done, I talked to my doc about underarm sweat. I was ruining shirts in one or two wearings, and it was embarrassing to have sweat marks (I'd never had this issue until my adrenal glands failed a few years ago). The doc said yes, he could do botox; but, it's expensive and success isn't gauranteed. He recommended I give Certain Dry a try before making any decisions. WOW. I've not had a single issue since, and I don't use deoderant during the day at all. Just Certain Dry every night or every other night. THis stuff has been a life saver for me!
