    Default having a portfolio?

one of the regulars at my club is a professional photographer. he's always bugging me about doing a shoot and i always say, "i'll think about it" because i hate having my photograph taken. BUT, i'll be leaving soon and am starting to think it might be a good idea to have a porfolio on hand, in case i ever need it.

is it a useful thing to have? worth enduring the agony of a photo shoot? hehe...

Ooo...r u talking about that Raz guy??? I talked to him the other day, too.
I HATE getting my picture taken, but it might be kinda cool, since he's trying to build HIS portfolio and doing a shoot for $1... I am thinking about it, even though I refuse to let my family take pics of me on the holidays , heh.
If you do end up doing it, let me know how it goes
Or if you want someone to came along....
With all the stupid things guys will say, stay cool.

a couple girls have had it done and were happy. or i might talk to MJ about buying me a photoshoot w you know who...although after the ass photo, i don't know about that...hahaha!

Classic's Montana - i was thinking not so much "adult" oriented. maybe some lingerie. and some other photos. nothing topless or nude though. you're right that i need to be careful about the customer business though...

I've done several photoshoots whith two custies who are professional photographers. The first was recommended to me by a manager and several of the girls then he refered me one of his buddies who has an OMP site. Both have been great expieriences.

A couple of years ago, I used some pics to put together a calander for my regulars as a Xmas gifts, I print and e-mail pics to custies when they request them, but most importantly, when I'm eighty I have proof that grandma was a hottie back in the day!

I should have more done since I've changed my hair...

For anybody in Colorado trying to find a great photographer, check out John Allen , Tony LaMonica on or .

I've known some customers who try to offer their photography services just as a way to get a dancer OTC. My first reaction would be buyer beware, and not to go alone.

However, in this case, it does sound ligitimate, and if other dancers have been pleased with their results, you may feel like it's worth it.

My only real hesitation then would be the portfolio for a $1. Especially since someone mentioned the photographer was trying to build their portfolio as well. Do you really want someone else to own the rights to the pictures? You never know where they might end up in the future. It may cost more, but it might be worth it to have the portfolio done where YOU own the rights to the pictures and the get the negatives at the end. Just a thought. Obviously, if you don't mind him owning your image, then this warning doesn't apply.

    Best of luck!

A portfolio does come in handy. I HATE having my pic taken, im very un natural in front of a camera but I had mine done awhile ago and im doing another shoot, I actually decided I want to get into modeling. Its not that bad at all, set some ground rules first, ask to see his portfolio and check his references. Also make sure you bring someone with you(it will help you relax in front of the camera). Tell him you wont pose nude, you dont want to do topless. Set your limits. Maybe do some bikini shots or something. Read over his model release form before signing it. If he has rights to your photos for his portfolio and you dont want that, then dont do it. Think it through and talk over all concerns first.

Does the club still do those shoots for dancer of the month?

I adore having my portfolio. It brings me in business. There are TONS of girls who dont, and dont need to. Do or dont, it wont kill your cash either way. If other girls were happy with this dude, I say why not? Set your boundries with the guy and make sure to get in writing where and how he uses the images.

I have had one...still do, but it's sadly out of date. A girl needs photos up here, but I've never seen them be majorly useful anywhere else. Even when I'm traveling in the US, I usually don't send professional shots, I send regular digicam shots because otherwise they get confused and think I'm asking for a feature spot.

It doesn't get money out of customers, if that's what you're asking.

If you want to model, though, you def. need a portfolio.

always look at HIS book before you let him create one for you.

any sheister can say they're a photographer... don't shoot with clowns, or people who can't show you their best work. if his book sucks, don't do it.

As a legitimate photographer, I would be lying if I didnt see the potential for cross over for some of the entertainers I have seen, not necessarily in the adult genre. If I really see something in a girl (or guy) I may give a quick blurb about how they may need to look into the industry, I give them my card with all my info, including a link to my website with examples of my work, which links to other industry related networking sites.

If they want to look into it, they have the option, if not, well that their choice and I will rarely explain to them that if they dont work with me if will make me cry at night due to artistic love lost

So, yes, if you want a portfolio to either showcase your current state of life, promote your business, or open another door to other sources of income, I would think a portfolio is a good investment.
Shooting with random custies because they want to get you naked and not pay for it, resulting in you getting crappy pics and him something to fap to at night, well I wouldnt put it on my list of top things to do

I've done several photo shoots, but nothing more than implied nudity. Both my photographers are also good friends of mine, so it's a lot more comfortable.

I've done a photoshoot for a guy that makes those escort flyers in vegas... I did a bunch of poses in various attire and released them so he can pollute vegas to his heart's content.

my pay was a 48 lot portfolio (alot of photos) and $500 for 6 hours work... it went fast and I met a good make-up artist, too. I also have all of the pics on cd's so I can use them as I wish.

frankly, I don't mind if people in Vegas think i'm an escort...

this was just one way to get a portfolio that you are paid to have created... and, the insentive to make you look good is on their side...
