    Default Relaxing and Tension Release

Can you ladies list the ways you relax your muscles and the product names of things like foot spas, back pads, and such. Any and all ideas will be of much help. I usually sit in the piping hot shower but it is so drying and I feel like I am wasting water, lotion, and time. Thanks!

Oops, this should go in Body Business - can a mod. move it, please?

I get a massage every week. 20 minutes is only $15 and helps VERY much. My massage therapist also taught me how to stretch between visits so my back pain is less each time I come in.

I have had severe upper back pain since I started work. So now I try to go to professionals instead of doing it myself.

Soma's or asprin. Actually, I have this pad thingy. It's filled with rice or something... You put it in the microwave and it heats up. I use that when my muscles start to but me.

Massages and heat therapy do provide temporary relief, but the only thing that permanently helped my back pain was yoga. I went from lower back pain so bad I sometimes couldn't stand up to pretty much completely pain-free. The best thing is, once you know what poses to do, you can do it yourself, any time you need it.

Yeah, yeah, yoga! I'm impressed with the physical toning (not much weight loss, sorry) from a few months of doing Bikram. Like xoxo and others, I've had my share of (lower) back complaints, but yoga definitely has made a difference and improved my core strength.

Um, sex or just plain having an orgasm works wonders for me sometimes...

Yup, sex or masturbation helps relax me like nothing else.

Bellydancing helps relax me and helps my back.

And I don't know how safe this is, but for my last period I used a vibrator on my belly muscles that I found to be tight. I don't remember the last time I had such a pain free period. Can imagine you can use a vib on other muscles as well.

Thank you all very much for the response. I am going to take the yoga classes at my gym, gulp some advils, and buy a foot soak tub. My pain is mostly in my ankles and lower back / hip area. And - I haven't even started back to work yet! It's residuals of the years I danced before - I know more pain is coming - I just want to be prepared!

Oh yes!!! The masturbation helped last night! I knew someone would say that!!!! HeHeHe!!!
