So last week, I got fat injections into my upper and lower lips while I sedated for another surgery that was being performed. OMG, I woke up looking like an ALIEN freak. I swear I looked like a Chimpanzee with an overbite. My 14 month old daughter started crying when she was brought into the recovery room. I wasn't too worried right then and there because I have been having Hylaform/Restylane injections for a while and expected the swelling. By that night my lips didn't shrink ... they got bigger. I called my doc's nurse because I went into a full force panic attack. She told me that the swelling would peak at day three and then start to go down.
Well, six days later now...I almost look like a human again. I am still shy to go into public at this point. But I am starting the see the shape of my lips and they are softening up. (They have been VERY hard and rubbery). I think by next week they will look about normal. The doc has to overfill by 60% because only 40% of the fat is retained. The rest is metabolized by the body.
I will post before and after pics next week. Anyway, thought I'd share for anyone curious. I am interested to see how long the fat will last. It is said to last maybe a year or two. Much better than getting Resty injections every 4-6 months but goodness, I don't know if the pain and misery is worth it. We shall see...

. Injections give them a more youthful appearance. The fat injections are only supposed to last a bit longer than the acid fillers. It is not a permanent change.
I believe you Dottie and you have my support
I think it's caused from too much sun and not enough sunblock - lips need sunblock too! Oh and probably not enough water as well. That dry weather means you need alot more water than in other places.
