    Default electrical appliance repairs

does any one know where (what type of place) or if I even can take my hair straightener to get a new cord put on it. My dog chewed through the cord, and I was wondering if it would be cheaper to get it repaired. It's fairly new.

Any estimates as to how much something like this may cost?

If you're geeky enough you can repair it yourself. I don't see why a TVrepairdude couldn't fix it. They usually fix all sorts of electronics. I'd say it'd be about $20.

If you know a guy (or a girl) that's handy with a soldering iron, you can just buy a new cord at Home Depot and have him disassemble and resolder the wiring to the unit.

How much cord is crewed up? If half the cord is not damaged (it would need to be the half connected to the dryer), cut off the damaged part and replaced the plug. You can get a new plug in any hardware store. Its only 1 or 2 dollars and you can do it yourself. With the shorter cord you will need use an extension cord, so that would be a little more if you don't have one.
