    Default Dancerwealth home study course

I'm so psyched!!!! Getting back into dancing and I figured why not take the course? I can't get the time off from work to go to a seminar (used all my vacation time already )so I was checking out my other options on his website.

He's not doing the full teleconferences anymore, but there's been so much added to the seminar that the home study course (a recording of the last live teleconference) is the tiniest bit dated. He's decided to sell the home study course along with a two hour teleconference to supplement it.

I was on a plane ride yesterday and listened to most of the first and second cds (while working on a baby blanket). I'll have to listen to it all again so I can take notes at the same time (real work colleagues sitting next to me on plane..)

I don't want to 'reveal' stuff that's on there, as I think people who want the information should pay for it, as he's put so much time into preparing this course, but I just want to praise everything so far!

Listening to only an or so has already cleared up misconceptions I had that hindered my money when I danced. And there are some really great tips on how to keeps the custies attention just on you and stuff.

I'm loving it so far!! I hope that as I listen more I'll continue to add to this post how great it is. I'm not starting to dance again till the end of the month, but I can't wait to start NOW!

I'm gonna start sounding like an infomercial for DW soon, so I'll stop for now...

Good to hear, Katherine. I was curious about taking the course. I mean I already danced for years, so I was wondering if there was anything new in there that I didn't know. I know that I suck as a hustler. So I was wondering if it would help me.

You can go to the website, but I paid $299 for mine.

Honestly, and I hope I don't offend anyone, but I didn't hear anything that I didn't already know, at least in the first 5 CDs I've gone through. I sound super cocky, but also let me say that sometimes knowing things is not enough. And in that regards it is a great motivational tool that I plan on using to get going before work.

And I do think it is a must for girls who have a problem even asking for dances, or not knowing how to even approach tables, or who don't know why other dancers are making money when they aren't.

DW helps me the most in his replies to topics in Hustle Hut. The free advice he'll hand out sometimes is really worth a whole lot and I always listen.

I really don't understand why so many dancers have to "think about" the course. To be successful in ANY endeavor, you have to just "take a chance". I took the course and it has a lot of good info.

What is there to lose? I talk to soooo many girls and they have to "think about" it. That is the difference in our customers who are wealthy and dancers who are poor. Dancers are too afraid to"go for it". They don't want to invest in this business. Wealthy people buy any info out there feeling they can learn something from everyone. Dancers always feel someone is trying to rip them off. What is the worst you can lose if the class is less than you expected? Not much, right?

All you girls who haven't bought the course should just do it. Our clubs are sucking worse and worse everyday because more and more dancers don't know how to work the floor. These girls stir up a bunch of shit and piss off customers. Those girls are hurting the money of us girls who are ambitious.

No matter what parents or low life boyfriends say, this is a business and to be successful in any business one needs training. I guarantee, if you have parent who hates your being a dancer, but you all of a sudden have money to show for it, and can help them out in a bind, they will all of a sudden "approve of your choice of work.

A lot of girls have to 'think about it' because for some it is a lot of money. The home study might not be as much but it still is a lot of money. Though reading the hustle hut on here and if you've worked any retail job or any job requiring sales skills you know a majority of the course already. The only real thing I picked up from it(no offence DW I think what your doing is great but it just doesnt apply to the clubs around here) was re-wording a lot of things I was saying. Like insted of 'good' when someone asks you how your doing I now say 'fantastic' and that made a difference. Though if your club is into selling VIP rooms and Champagne rooms the course can be very useful. Though for the clubs I work in that really only sell single dances and you can get fired for barginning prices it didnt apply as much.

But Cally, you live in Toronto, and you went to Vegas to take the class. If you can do that, why is it so hard for a girl that lives 1/2 the distance you live to go. I understand that the live class can be a lot to swallow for some, but $299 for a home study class is reasonable. Anyone should have or be able to come up with $300 if they really want to.

You do have to adapt some info to the specific clubs, but for many dancers the general info the course offers is much that they are not using.

Many dancers say all the things to customers that the class says NOT to say. They are afraid of rejection, don't wear the proper outfits, don't do their nails, don't even wear shoes all the time, avoid customers, sit with guys too long, don't know how to sell off of stage, don't know how to turn a no into a yes, don't know how to string a guy along for more dances, don't know how to persuade managers to make changes in the club in a way that they will be perceptive to, drink at work, get high, get drunk, cheat the customers, insult customers, bad mouth another dancer to a customer, sit with another girls regular, don't know how to sell to groups, don't know how to "bribe" a DJ or bouncer to get them to do more for them, don't give a DJ a written script telling him how to pump them up when on stage, don't work a stable schedule, don't know how to keep regular customers, don't know how to save money. I could go on and on.

I agree Tina.. as I said it can be helpful for a lot of girls. But I would hope any girl who is on SW would take a few min to read the hustle hut and pick up on a lot of this stuff. I agree the course is perfect for girls who work in Vegas style clubs that focus on VIP sales and champagne sales though.

Doing the course for me was just like maintenance for myself. Buying new clothes, getting a personal trainer, upkeeping my hair and nails and learning new techniques. Its all apart of maitenance for the job including making your sales for effective for the changing times. They are all just as important and bring you to be a more powerful sales woman.

Tina also made some very good points; especially, about travelling.

I think re-listening to the cd's before work is a great motivational tool. And little things here and there that have already been brought up in this thread do add up. I do believ the course had helped a bit, like anything you get out of something what you put into it. Even if you know a lot of stuff already, I guess the course explains the how and why of it a little better.

Slippery slope....from "training is necessary" to "this training is necessary..." Slipped in on the slope is the presumption that this is the best way to learn this stuff.

Holiday- from what I've listened to so far, I agree that it's not new 'profound' news.

But for everyone else, it's like stuff that you know in a fuzzy indirect way, and it's it put in front of you in a clear neat fashion. That's what I'm loving so far.

Most dancers need to learn how to sell, and need to approach dancing like they would an 8-5 job.

As far as this being a slippery slope, how many dancer training programs are out there?

Again, it all comes down to, what does a dancer have to lose by studying EVERYTHING they can about selling. Taking this class, reading sales books, applying things learned on this site.

As I said, this is a business. Anything that allows a person to earn money is a business. As the old saying goes, "It's not what you do, but how you do it". To hell with what a dancers parents or loser boyfriend says. If a girl can learn how to sell in this business, make let's say $80,000 a year net with flexible hours, versus working at a desk job making $40,000, why would a person take the $40,000 a year job more serious than one earning her twice as much with no boss breathing down her neck?

$80,000 a year dancing if worked properly can set a dancer up to have her money work for her, be well off financially, and NEVER have to work at a job again at some point in her life.

People pay thousands to go to trade school or college to earn less than what a well trained dancer can make. The DW class is just one thing that dancers should in my opinion take, as well as reading every book out there on getting to yes and overcoming objection. Then they should learn "creative" ways to work their dancer earnings so that they will be well off after retiring from dancing.

Dancers who are money driven and who don't want a rat race 8-5 job seem to be the ones willing to invest the most in this business. Also those who have gotten an education, and gotten tired of the rat race dead end career, appreciate the opportunity dancing gives them more than other dancers.

Very true and I don't think many would argue with you. However we should still be free to critique DW for what it is. It is good, but maybe there should be an Advanced DW series next

I bought and listened to the HSC more than a few times. I'd have to say that the 6th CD was the most useful to me. The CDs previous to that were mostly filled with things I already knew, but probably needed to hear again.
It's like getting a tune-up for your car...it makes your car run a little better, although you can still drive the car for a while without one. You won't get optimal performance without maintenance.

Assuming sales and re-phrasing things did help, but I forget a lot of closers and closed-ended questions mentioned in the course. I can't say that this has made my income jump through the roof because I bought it during the slow season and I have a very consistent regular that gives me a big chunk of my income these days, but I never go home with less than $200 anymore.

The advanced series idea sounds good. Because if DW could turn into one of us for a week, as a sales trainer and motivational speaker, he has TONS more techniques to use with customers than he taught us in the course, and could easily outearn us.
