Anybody heard anything besides rumors? All I keep hearing is that there are marble floors...this is supposed to signify the classiness of the place. Does a town this size really need 10 titty bars? Oh, well...

What?! Where?
Can you imagine falling on a marble floor? Ow. Sounds cool though. Eenteresting.
I've been hearing about this place for over a year, with no concrete info. Austin has a good amount of clubs now.

You're not even kidding. I'm afraid this is only going to spread business thinner. And of course, this place is going to compete for the rich white business-guy dollar, which is a limited commodity here. Grumble.Originally Posted by Katrine
I just heard about this club too. It was supposed to open up this past Thursday, Sept 14, but apparently they were having A/C issues and decided to postpone for a couple weeks. One of my regulars at P10 knows the owner who's opening up the place and he says that they're trying to make it one of the nicest clubs in Texas: 2-stories, elevators, private skyboxes, and even a swimming pool.
I'm really excited about this club, personally. I've worked at Perfect 10 for a year and a half now and I could use a change of scenery every now and then. I'm anxious to see what they do with that swimming pool too!![]()
And the question of the day is...where is it?

I've been told that it's out on Hwy 290 east towards Houston. It's supposed to be near the all-nude club XTC, and a google search for "playmates austin" showed a location at 8110 Springdale Rd, Austin, 78724. ()
Hey, Miko! I'm at P10, too. In fact, didn't you dance in the contest Wednesday night? Great job!

I just remember seeing an ad on Craigslist (looking for dancers) that was probably referring to this. I need to hear some advertisements before I'll go though to make sure there's customers.
Heh, yup. That was me. The dance contest was a fun time. I miss having Jimmy as the DJ on Wednesdays. I heard that Playmates stole him away. Let's hope he comes back!
A high class club in the blue-collar east side of town? That's pretty fucking stupid. BUT, Jimmy is awesome. Right now, the number of clubs in Austin is good. You have P10 and Joy up north, one big club and one small club. Same thing down south with Palazi-ho and Expose. You have the Flower Shop and the Bakery for central eye-candy. If someone wants skank, they can head out to XTC and Landing Strip out east. Its ideal. "Vegas" style class just isn't going to work in ATX. Oh well, I'll spend some money out there.
So which nights is Jimmy going to be DJing there?

Zoning. Where the hell are they gonna put it, Westlake? Lakeway? In the old Whole Foods on Sixth and Lamar? I mean, anywhere central is out because of the distance you have to maintain from a school or a place of worship. And guys don't want to play in their own backyards.Originally Posted by Zabrina
But yeah, they'd better be planning on a whoooole lot of advertising.
I would hope so. If it were me I'd be doing saturation advertising RIGHT NOW on the radio getting everybody pumped up for the opening in a few weeks. The fact that we have to ask each other if anybody's heard anything is a scary sign...Originally Posted by Susan Wayward

Exactly, that is not a good sign at all. I don't see how they can keep up the upscale vibe, especially during the day shift. At Joy's and P-10's there is Dell and all the other businesses nearby to supply an upscale lunchtime crowd. In the evenings, you have all the middle class guys passing by and making a pitstop at the club on their way out to the suburbs. I'm not very familiar with the east side, but it seems like a long and out of the way drive for anyone but blue-collar workers. Perhaps this upscale image is just marketing bullshit, afterall, noone is going to advertise thier place as middle-of-the-road or scummy even if the description suits it!

Maybe they're just having one massive management brain fart or something...
If you were to recommend a club where would you suggest a girl to work and what places must I avoid. Any and all replies are greatly appreciated as I do not know the ATX scence. Thanks.
Avoid Club O and "Hot Bodies". Anything else is pretty decent. Depends on what part of town you live...........Originally Posted by Phat

anyways, look for high fees!
Feature costumes for sale!
I don't know if that would fly in Austin. All of the clubs work the same. Housefees get higher the later you get into work. They max out at about $50. Tipouts are reasonable, and no one takes a cut of your dances. There is no club organized champagne room prices either. Each song is $20 unless you negotiate something else......Originally Posted by scarlett_vancouver

Color me confused. You mean something like a set price per hour in VIP or higher prices for dances in VIP; something like that? If so, then thank goodness we don't have that. I don't know if I would have been a much a junkie in this town if that were true.Originally Posted by Katrine
