    Default Sign's you SHOULDN'T be a stripper..

Hell, we spend all day getting angry the the horrible stereotypes we have come to known. Is there anything you did that you regret because you stripped? What? Is there a good reason you shouldn't have been a stripper? What were the signs this wasn't the job for you, at first? What pulled you though?

Signs I wasnt suppose to be a stripper... I didnt realize it was a real job and getting drunk/high on the job to deal. I quit for 2 years and came back with a whole new outlook.

I should have been a stripper and damn happy too. There are crappy moments like any other job but its the freedome that keeps me free everywhere else.

The only regret I have is not having started sooner! Buisness was MUCH better before I started. I just caught the end of the good ole days though (-:
I also wish Id started in a different club. The first club I tried was totally shit - very quiet and as I discovered just before I left, ( a big reason for leaving) some of the girls were bitches and backstabbers and it wouldnt have been so shit if they hadnt be writing me off to customers.

I saw this video on youtube earlier today, titled "exotic dancer," where she was talking about how she was a drug addict, an alcoholic and abused by men because of her job... until she found Jesus.

I was outraged. You do NOT need to drink or use drugs in order to be a stripper - it's a question of your own damn self control. I'm 20, and I have more than enough opportunities to drink at the club where I work at, but I don't because I know perfectly well that I don't have the tolerance for it, and Idon't want people taking liberties because of it.

So basically, you shouldn't be a stripper if you're not ready to control yourself when you're doing your JOB.

I wish I hadn't stayed at my old club too long because I missed out on the big money club that I am working at now. Either way, I can't complain. I would have probably been way too inexperienced to handle a club like that as a newbie.

    1) someone who does not have self discipline.
    2) someone who does not have a positive self image
    3) someone who does not have thick skin
    4) someone with a loser boyfriend they are supporting
    5) someone who wants to fight every dancer in the club
    6) someone who intentionally tries to rip customers off
    7) Someone who looks down on all their fellow dancers

Thankfully life had taught me everything I needed to suvive in the business. God gave me wisdom, and i am still learning today.

I dont regret it. At all. But I SEE when a girl shouldnt be a dancer.

    1) They need drugs or to be stupidly drunk to be able to handle the job.
    2) They dont give a shit if their actions havenegative consiquenses for the club and her fellow employees.
    3) They NEED to do this for a living in order to like themselves.

I think I was born to strip. I wish I'd started sooner. Like others, I see girls all the time who definitely shouldn't be doing it. Especially the ones who have to be drunk/high just to get on stage or talk to customers. Those are THE most importants parts of the job, so if you can't do those things sober, you shouldn't be doing it at all. Too much room for emotional damage that way. This is NOT a job for the faint of heart.

Also the ones who can't stand up for themselves, don't have thick skin, etc. Basically, most girls who strip these days should never have set foot in a strip club, ever.

Like most, I've done things I regret. Nothing to make me think I shouldn't have been a stripper, though. I just wish I'd started sooner.

I was thinking the same thing -- I'd say as many as half the girls I meet seem wrong for the job. I think I make a pretty good stripper, although when I started some people told me I wasn't the "type" -- too shy and not girly enough, I guess. But I've cleaned up, learned to hustle, stayed sober, and had fun, while I see so many girl that most people would think of as "the type" who are just too weak and too irresponsible to make the most of a job like this.

^^Yeah, I think the "type" has more to do with personality than looks. Looks being important, but I think if you don't have the inherent personality traits, you're probably doing yourself a large disservice to do this job.

I'm glad I had an assortment of crappy jobs before I stripped. It made me appreciate the opportunity more.

A girl should not work if- she's weak-minded, had a pimp boyfriend, can't show up to work on time, & can't follow basic rules.

    1. If you are getting into stripping for someone other than yourself. If your boyfriend fancies himself a pimp and it makes him look more "pimp like" if his GF strips, or if you are being pressured by your friends to become a stripper.
    2. Don't become a stripper just to "get even" with someone who pissed you off ie; ex-BF, parents, those bitches at school etc.
    3. Don't become a stripper if you ever plan on going into public service. Elected officals are usually disected by the media and their opponents.
    4. If your IQ is below 80, you'll get eaten alive in this business. People in the world of stripping take advantage of weakness, espically mental weaknesses.
    5. If you are doing it to get money from those "awful men". Vengence against the opposite sex is the total wrong reason to become a stripper, but if you are looking for more reasons to hate men, then go for it.
    6. If you are lesbian and just trying to hook up, you won't get very far.
    7. If you are doing research to slam strippers on your daytime talk show, you should probably just stay home.

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

very good list of reasons why not to dance. I'd also like to add one...if it ever gets to the point where it's not worth it anymore (for whatever reason: financially, emotionally, spiritually, psychologically, etc.), then perhaps a girl should no longer be a dancer. it's one thing to push one's self and deal with it, because that's pretty much a requirement in this job. however, she may reach a point when the price that comes along with sticking with the job negates any financial benefits. this is a very individual thing....

    1) If you're still in high school. I've known some people who stripped while still in high school. Yes, they were 18, but there's still something very wrong with that.

    2) You're young, dumb, and see stripping as an alternative to a rich daddy's credit card. Young girls in general shouldn't be stripping b/c too many of them haven't learned the ropes of life and are stripping to get teh materialistic stuff that they've always wanted. Most of it goes to fancy cars, designer clothes, etc. Although I stripped at age 20, and there are a lot of under-21 women who could greatly benefit from stripping (escape from abusive home, make investments from an early age, etc), I still have half a mind that women should wait till age 21 to strip, because a lesser percentage of women are mind-bogglingly stupid as they age.

I think the age factor depends greatly on the person. I'm one of the younges dancers at my club, but I graduated fron high school 2 yrs early, own my own home, and invest my money wisely.

The best example I've ever seen of "too young/ stupid" was a girl who danced for 2 months then went out and bought an expensive car, moved into a upscale appt. and furnished it. Summer hit, and all I've heard all summer is how she has to make $$$ to pay for her car (she comes in a few days before the bill is due, of course) and all her bills. I'm suprised she's lasted this long.
