    Default BA incision

I am going to have a BA in soon and I can't decide if I want to go through the arm pit or under the breast. There are two different sergons I have gone to have talk to. One only makes incisions under the breast and the other only makes incisions in the armpit. Have any of you ladies had implant incisions in these areas? If you do will you tell me if there were any complications with your breasts after the surgery. I had a friend that had hers through the arm pit and she can not raise her left up all the way and the right breast bottomed out. Another girl a I know had hers done throught the arm pit and she had to keep going back every week for a few months to have the doctor break the cartilige in left arm all the way down to the middle of her bicep and one of her breasts took along time to drop. I have not had any of my friends have complication that had an incision under the breast. So ladies just let me know if you have had any problems with either or.

I got the armpit incision and havnt had any problems like what you described. The only complaint i have is that i had a weird tingley numbness on my arm right below the armpit for about the first year. Once the nerves went back to normal it was fine. You can`t even see the scars anymore. I would definately suggest this incision.

With all the different options for a BA incision these days, I don't understand why anybody would ever opt for a crease incision for their first BA. Personally, I wouldn't go to a surgeon who ONLY did crease incision. I have the periareolar incision myself.

ETA: Why not consult with at least one more sugeon?

the armpit incision is so much more superior because it's the only way to get completely under the muscle, less chance of capsular contracture and the scarring is minimal....but it's also the most complicated so it's VERY important to find a surgeon that is good at this.

Usually a surgeon has a perferred placement method. Basically, any surgeon that only does the crease (for saline) is basically saying he'd rather spend more time playing golf than learning to do boobs.

my surgeon (Dr DeWire) has a lot about the trans-ax incision on his site. I would recommend him too. Do a search on implant boards and you will find almost all raves about him (that's rare!) He does a lot of traveling patients. I had mine done 8 months ago (attached a pic I just took as writing this) and everything went fine. I"m the rule, not the exception. I did have a reaction to the sutures with my breast lift, but he fixed it at no charge. But no complications related to the BA itself.

I have mine periareolar as well, and I love it. Guys believe me all the time when I say "ya hunny, they're real!" b/c they cant see the scars. When your scars are under (crease) they're obvious. Also, the areola inscision is good for me b/c it's the most direct placement. The inscision is right where the inplants will be.

I've also heard complications from the armpit inscision, so if you choose it, go to a great doc. (emilys is very well known for being skilled and experienced).

I would choose a doc for more then just the type of inscision, although that is important. Look at what size he wants to go, under or over, how attentive he and his staff are to your needs, how many surgeries has he done just like yours, does he only do breasts.

Sorry but this is false information. I have the crease incision and I am completely under the muscle. My PS was not sure if he could close the muscle because I went fairly big on my first BA but he was able and I am thrilled. I agree with everything else you said about the armpit incision.

I had no choice to go with the crease incision because I have co-gel implants that were too big to go with the armpit incision. Actually I had a choice but I would have had to choose a smaller sized implant which was definately out of the question. But if I had had the choice it would have been the armpit because of the ability to hide the scar. Though mine is almost unnoticable

Okay you are right, but the armpit incision is the only way to get completely under the muscle without cutting the muscles or fascia. I should have been more specific.

I just had a BA like yours....During recovery, did you have concern about part of your aereola not "attaching" back to the skin like it should?
Also, how long did you wait before dancing again?
    THANK YOU
