    Angry Getting followed home (rant)

Not that long ago, I had a guy follow me home totally unrelated to my club, just from coming home so late at night, and I had to call the cops. That was scary and left me shaky for awhile.

I have since moved and I was coming home when I passed a car with a guy in it, as soon as he saw me he turned on his lights and made a u-turn to follow me. WTF? Fucking great...so I am driving around all shaky trying to find my cell phone to call my roommate to get him to wait by the door when I get home.

I was thinking that I would just go to another strip club (the only things left open) until it was light out if my roommate didn't answer the phone.

Maybe I am being totally paranoid, but now i think I should have gone to Denny's or something...anywhere but my own house just in case he still was behind me. I was just so tired, now I am tired and paranoid. Dammit!

I really, really hope i am just being paranoid. NO ONE at the club knows where I really live (especially since I moved) and I sure as hell am not changing the registration to my car (the first guy took pictures of my plates on his fucking cell phone).

Being scared like this fucking sucks. I guess I'll do some homework cause now I am wide fucking awake.

If you drive to and from work, get a gun. You live in Florida right? I keep a gun in my glove compartment at all times.

Agree^^ Also, if you feel as though someone is following you, DON'T lead them to your home. Drive in circles, drive to a firehouse, anything to avoid them knowing where you live. Be careful dear.

Also if your not comfortable carrying a gun you could always get some pepper spray. I`ve seen some that attach to your key chain so it will be easily accesible.

Trust your hunch always. It's there for a reason..sometimes you just sense something is wrong, it's not paranoia..it's a built in safety device

If you're being folllowed, don't go home. Also, switch up your route home often.
Failing a gun, mace/tasers are other options.

I think a taser would be the safest option for you, but I would never lead a stalker to your own doorstep. I thought I was being followed once and thankfully the area I live in is filled with poorly lit streets and lots of trees, so I actually shut my car lights off and sped away. I wouldn't advise doing this, but I know how paranoid it can make you feel at times. Be safe hun!

Or better yet, drive to the nearest police station, they'll speed off really quick if they know there's cops around.

I'm sorry. I was followed once... Well, they tried... I lost them (my car > their van). It's always a good idea to make sure your car has enough gas before you go to work... and keeps something with you in case you need to defend yourself. I'd recommend a taser. I have one of those and a knife in my car at all times and I carry my pepper spray in my purse.

I believe this video will answer all of your questions PookaShell:

    Taser X26

Be careful with these though, they are illegal for civilians to have in quite a few US states and foreign countries.

When you go to leave work, look around the parking lot to make sure there are no guys leaving or waiting before you leave. If there are, go back in the club until they are gone. Like everyone else said, NEVER go home, and lock your car doors. You can also call the cops, tell them your being followed and where you are, and they will send a cop car out to you. IF a cop is behind you, that will deter the guy from following you.
I had a guy once try tofollow me home as well. He was waiting in the parkign lot with his light off, and when I got in my car, he turned on his lights and got ready to leave. So I went back in the club and waited, and waitied. FINALLY, he was gone, so I left, then I see a car down the road do a U turn, and was behind me. Crazy asshole. I went back to my club, and asked a bouncer to follow me home. When this guy realized I had a bouncer with me, he turned around and left me alone.

Wow, My club keeps us there untill it's closed (about 20 min after) and then the lot is checked, and if all the custys are gone, we go home. It makes me feel so much safer. I've still been followed, so I just went to a fire station. The guy left. He's a reg of mine, and he never mentioned it. But after this I told him I moved, and that my liscense was suspended, and I take a cab home. Be careful, it's a dangerous world out there

I know how you feel! There was this guy that use to stalk me. It was unrelated to dancing also! He would follow me home and wacth me. I did not notice he was doing this at first! I think that is what scare us the most! We did not notice thier behavior, therefore we seem to be extra cautious once we do notice thier behavior! My advice is start taking an self defense class or take an martial art class. I would also use differant route home from work. I will change my routes so they are not the same. I know what happen to you was scary. Maybe you can get people to pick you up from work, school, etc......

The guy who had followed me. I had to get three order of protection agaisnt him, in three differant cities. Those things did not stop him from stalking me. So I know why you feel the way you feel! I know it's very scary!

Have you considered carrying a fake or non loaded gun? Just for looks?

^^^ That's the worst possible thing. Because then you escalate the situation, but have no actual backup for yourself.

It can also be a problem if you only think the gun is not loaded. Always assume a gun is loaded and that the saftey is off.
