    Default Water fasting..few questions

    Hiya guys

Crohns is being a pain again, so going to do 5 days water fast- again doctor is being fairly laid back and saying do whatever makes you feel better kinda thing. I really hate being on babyfood so would rather just fast and then try to reintroduce some bland soft/puree foods

Is it okay to do this for 5 days? Can i continue weight training??

Any advise would be appriciated.. having a rubbishy time with bowels atm

Nothing at all but water for five days? They say after three days you're so ketonic or whatever it's called that you stop feeling hungry. But you'll probably feel weak and dizzy. Just guessing cuz I've only ever fasted on juice. I would say either juice fast or yeah, skip the weight training.

Do your reserch. I hate it when people fast improperly, when done well, it's amazing, but it can hurt you. Go to a natural or homeopathic doc.

Yeah, I can vouch for that. I was super depressed a while ago and just stopped eating completely. You do reach a point where you just don't want food anymore. It doesn't matter that you haven't eaten in like 6 days.

Meanwhile, I slept like 18 hours a day and was eventually put in the hospital for dehydration and malnutrition.

I would strongly advise a juice fast (I love the Master Cleanse where you use fresh lemons, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper in water).

Sorry to hear about the flare-up...but do a lot of research before you settle on any one thing.

I have IBS (I've mentioned in response to previous posts by you, I believe), and if mine starts acting up, I go straight to a three day water fast. It is good to just let your digestive system kick back and relax. Don't drink the water too cold though, as ice water can cause intestinal cramps.

Also, I wanted to let you know that a month ago, I finished a 30 day juice fast, and I felt amazing by the end. If you want any info on that, pm me. As for juice causing cramps, it's probably the acidic fruits that are the culprit. Juicing things like apples and melons might be less harsh (I drank veggie juice during the day, and a glass of fruit juice at night). I worked out 6 days a week when I fasted, but I had to back off a little because my energy levels were not as high. I say, listen to your body. It will tell you what you should and should not do

I would also strongly advise you to read "The Body Ecology Diet". There is more info here .

I've been feeding my family on this diet for about a month now...and the difference is amazing!
