3% of all mammlas are monogamous.
Off the top of my head, most birds, seahorses, prairie voles, some primates, etc. I think wolves mate for life, too.
Your customer was blowing smoke somewhere he shouldn't.
Elephants are!
Huntsman spiders apparently - Aussie ones anyway...

well in the insect world, some black widow spiders eats their mate when the time comes. i believe male ants, bees, ... only have 1 chance. male and female salmon only get 1 chance. etc...
tapeworms have female, male parts so they can reproduce by themselves. unigamous??

you are forgetting our lovable DUCKS!~~
They are monogomous and when one dies...the other usually dies of lonliness.
I remember back in the days when I was goin to church, it was a sunday morning with a slight fog on the roadway.
From a distance I see a duck in the street.
I'm thinkin "Donald, get the off da road!"
As I get closer...it isn't Donald...it's Daffy standing next to Donald who's flat as a pancake from another car.
She just stood there...quite a revelation. *shrugs*

^^ so sad.

a few more for ya...
Um. The sun rises in the west at midnight. Will you suck my cock now?
It's about the same thing.
Honestly, an Amoeba or a Paramecium is more monogomous than ANYmotherfuckingTHING. Tell the fucking retard that one, next time. He can go fuck himSELF and he can see what monogamy is like.
"I got a one-up for you... Take a chainsaw, cut yourself in half, see if you can make two of ya..."
^^^^ Lmfao!
Well I totally forgot what I was about to add! :-D
I've been with my tapeworm for 12 years now. Havn't thought twice about it yet!
People are not ruled by their memories.

aww..that's cute.Originally Posted by supermaruchi

A good answer to the claim monogamy is not natural: "I see how you might have been led to believe that. Your generous & winning personality is self-evident." LOL

^ Even small-balled d*ckless wonders of the mammalian kingdom can be non-monogamous. Ladies here could attest! LOL

I don't believe that there are ANY primate species that are monogamous.Originally Posted by rozz

Human females are in heat all the time while most other creatures have a definite mating season, human females are also the only species of mammal that have breasts all the time. Human males have bigger penises and testicles than any other primates. And when you combine that with the fact that humans are hairless and are extra sensitive to touch I just don't think that ends up with monogamy with humans.
LOL. That's true too.Originally Posted by madmaxine

I think monogamy can be true for bursts of time. Maybe even years of time, but I don't think humans mate for life. I heard something that the 7 year itch has some biological validity and that once a child can walk and is out of the more precarious years of toddlerhood their isnt as much of a reason for the couple to remain together. Also the mother is no longer weaning so having a pair bond isn't as necessary. Who knows.Originally Posted by cherryripeboy

Weeeellllll..... for one thing TAPEWORMS ARE ASEXUAL. They reproduce by budding. Tapeworms don't breed with other tape worms, only themselves, so they can't be monogamous. That customer is a retard.

Lobsters, Elephants, Gibbon apes, wolves, termites, coyotes, barn owls, beavers, bald eagles, golden eagles, condors, swans, brolga cranes, French angel fish, sandhill cranes, pigeons, prions (a seabird), red-tailed hawks, anglerfish, ospreys, and black vultures — are a few that mate for life.Originally Posted by rozz

Maybe it is just the female ducks. I have neighbors who have 2 ducks, and male and a female. They have gone through 3 females and still have the male. He seems perfectly happy being a playboy...FiguresOriginally Posted by supermaruchi

Monagamy doesn't really make sense in an evolutionary way. Genitic diversity is what keeps a species healthy, monogamy does nothing to promote that genetic diversity.
I'd be willing to bet that very, very few animals are strictly monogamus- as in only taking a single mate in their lifetime. Birds are usually monogamous in so much as raising the young, but frequently will choose a different mate the next mating season- even swans.
Humans seem to be the most monogamous of all the animals, but how many people have you met that had only one sex partner their entire lives? Even with the threat of social ostirization or death in some cultures, the urge to have sex with multiple partners is strong enough to cause one to make supreme sacrifices in their lives.
As a side note, I know one couple that has been completely loyal to one another their entire lives. They started dating in the 8th grade and are now in their late 40's. If either one had an affair, it is either a huge secret or not a big deal to them (forgiven and forgotten).
