I just had my nipples pierced about 2 weeks ago, and I am considering getting a BA. I have heard that the piercings will close up really quick if you take the ring out. Does anyone know about getting a BA with the piercings in?

Can't. That's the long and short of it. A BA is surgery and they will ask you to take your metal out about three weeks ahead of time, if they're responsible doctors. This happens even with TUBA. Some offer to put them back in after the BA while you're still under anesthesia, which is great and not a problem if you've already healed.
You haven't. It can take 4-6 months for nipple piercings to heal to the point where they can be safely taken out, possibly longer if they're not being cared for properly. If you really want the BA and want it now, take the jewelry out (better yet, have it taken out by a pro- less of a chance of infection, ripping), let it heal. If you want to keep your metal, continue your sea salt soaks and q-tip cleaning and put off the BA for later.
Remember: you can re-pierce, but the pain on the re-piercing will be greater the longer you wait to take the metal out, because the scar tissue will build up the longer your metal is in. Trust me, re-piercing through scar tissue is not fun (icky, crunching sounds) and makes the piercing harder to care for afterwards. I'm going through this now. PM me if you have any questions.

^ Yup what rozz said.
There is no WAY they will allow nipple piercings you can't even where jewelry. I used to have a tongue ring which had to be removed when i had my operation.
Just remove them now, let them heal, and then re- pierce them again.. again like rozz said.
Seraya.
My hairdresser told me about her sister getting nip rings then getting a BA and afterward it was super lumpy around the ring

There have also been cases of implant infection occuring after a nipple piercing. Not at all common, but possible.
That sucks, I had mine for like a year, took em out and they healed overnight. I know it would hurt so bad if I did it again. Even my ears close up after a lil while and they have been pierced since i was 12. I have to keep studs in or they close up, why is that?Originally Posted by rozz

My doc told me that you can't wear any jewelry because if something goes wrong during the surgery and they need to shock your heart, the metal will burn you. I removed my nipple rings immediatly before surgery, and had them replaced before I woke up. I wore plastic jewelry in my other body piercings. I had no probs.

Can I have those plastic retainers put in during the surgery??
It's all going to come down to your plastic surgeon. Some say yes, some say no. If you want to keep them, find one that says yes. He/She should tell you how long you should wait after peircing until you have the surgery, and whether or not you will take your jewelry out just for the surgery, or whether you can wear plastic.
