    Default a pathetic hustle

Let me say first that I am not trying to offend anyone, and if you use this as a hustle, i'd be shocked. I always saw stripperweb as a place where girls that were SERIOUS about the work that we do come together and share our secrets.

This girl that doesn't really do great at my club suddenly got more dances. All of the other girls assumed she started doing extras, so we had a stakeout of sorts. I was sitting with a customer at a table, and she was at another table behind me. I was somewhat eavesdropping, and this is the conversation:

her - do you want a dance?
    him - no thank you
her - well, you know, i am a single mother....

I stopped listening at that, because I was so shocked. That hustle was incredibly horrible... not even so much in the "cheesy" aspect, but just pitiful.

well, I was a single mother when I first started bartendering and kinda dancing but I never revealed this as an attempt to make money. I am now considering dancing again but I would rather not make the dollar than make it out of pity.

I'm not saying that telling a cutomer you're a single mother is horrible, what I am saying is that, pressuring customers into getting dances by saying you're a single mother is bad.

i've known 6 or 7 dancers that use that, or something similar as their hustle. it's pathetic. i used to work in a club where there were a few single moms who would do that. regular customers would actually ask me if i had kids and then seem akward about me not having any. WTF. so that means i don't need the money? nothing against single moms AT ALL. But, sometimes i want to say. "no, i'm not a single mom. i need the money so that i can finish school, secure my future, and be ABLE to have a kid eventually that i can fully support on my own if needed." i don't go on about my car problems, my dads health, the fact that i'm a starving (sometimes literally) student. i heard one girl tell a guy she needed to buy groceries.

    grrrr. tackitty tack tack tacky.

i've known plenty of single moms who don't bring it up, unless asked of course and that's cool. it's ok to talk about your kid if it comes up, just don't beg for money.

Ugh, that's horrible. She might as well just say, "Look, I'm desperate, so chances are you might be able to talk me into doing extras." Isn't that the subtext there anyway? And even if that's not what she means by it, don't you think guys just might interpret it that way?

I am a single mother and I have NEVER used that, ever. I don't want people feeling sorry for me. I'm there to entertain people, not to drain people and guilt trip people into giving me money. That seems so desperate. And the LAST thing you want to appear is desperate.

How often do you hear people in business ask clients for support because the mortgage is due/the kids need clothes/ the bills need to be paid?

Bad tactic for business. Very bad.

    That one is bad..

Another one that was horrible came from a 29 year old smoker, heavy drinker with who knows how many kids. She would walk up and say "let me show you how a 18 year old does it!"
the first time I heard that I spit my drink all over laughing so hard.

this girl does it all the time, when i have customers, she always butts in and talks about her bills, so they get double dances (her and i at the same time) to get her to go away sooner. I hate when she does this, but I guess she thinks we can "team up" because we used to be great friends, before her life went into a downward spiral. UGH i'd love to slap her.

Ugh. The reason guys go to strip clubs is to have fun and get their mind off of the real world. Duh? She sucks.

One of my favorite customers came in and got a dance from another girl while waiting for me to get off stage. Really nice guy, NEVER talks badly about the girls, but went into a description of how this girl "forced" him into a dance...same tactic.

"Hi, can I dance for you?"
"No thanks, I'm waiting for Bobbi to get off stage."
"Well you can get one from me in the mean time, she wont mind" (and I wouldn't)
He says no thanks, she proceeds to tell him.."Look, I have two kids who have massive medical bills, and things are getting really tight, whats 20 bucks to you? Bobbi doesn't have kids, she doesn't need it like I do..."
Silly girl had no idea that this customer was a long time friend, and had actually met MY SON!

I swear, some will go too low for a buck...I think THAT is too low.

i knew aa girl who would spend her entire time walking around the club "busking' for 5 or 10 bucks for 'bread and milk to feed her babies' she was a horrible looking thing (not that that should matter) but she knew she couldn't get 20 for a dance, so she'd just wandewr around in her dance outfit all night asking for a few dollars. she actually made (a little)money because guys felt sorry for her.

she also worked in a dodgy handjob parlour in the ''burbs''...

poor girl, i wonder what happened to her. you've got to have nothing in your life to become that pathetic.

Begging has more dignity. That is so trashy. Same with any kinda guilt tripping to make money. Nasty nasty.

We actually have a handful of single moms at my club, I don't know if they use the guilt approach to get dances or tips, but I have heard them "vent" in the dressing room about how "these girls with no kids are taking food out of my babies mouths!"
Now I assume that means that since I have a mate and we parent our children together, I (and girls with no kids) have LESS right to work at a titty bar?
I was angry about that for a long time, although I have to say, after hearing it I do feel guilty... everytime I get a guy back to VIP for 10 songs I think, oh geez, now so and so's baby is going to starve...
I mean honestly... try and have a little class, right?

There's a gal at my club who does this. I've never heard her use her kids to beg for a dance but she always manages to work her children into conversations with custies. Funny thing is, sometimes she has three rugrats, sometimes four!

The first dancer I met had this hustle and it worked for her. I think it's up to you what hustle you like and are comfortable with. Guys come back to clubs for many different reasons. If she's getting repeat customers they aren't as unhappy as you think. You may feel degraded using her approach. Lord knows I've felt dirty watching many other girls approaches but "ya' can't knock the hustle".

Would you rather you had found out she was an extras girl like you thought? Do you girls still sit about trying to "trap" her at her game?

That's just as nasty as trying to get customers to feel obligated. Such ugly behaviour.

    WARNING!!! RANT!!!

I'd lose it if I heard someone say that. I have less of a right to feed myself, my dogs, make a mortgage payment, and have a quality of life that I see fit simply because I know how to use birth control... EFFFF YOUUUUU!

I have a huge pet peeve: people who think they have more of a right to anything simply because they've choosen to have kids. Yes, I'm an asshole. I HATE those frickin' yellow "BABY ON BOARD" signs people stick on thier mini vans... It's not that I dislike children or parents, it's that I get really annoyed and frustrated with those who expect others to accomodate them and thier choices.

    End rant.

Yeah, girls who whine about "Oh, I really need the money for my kids, my rent, my car note, etc." really irk me. I'd much rather make money because of my good looks and charm-I don't want pity dances.

oh for the love of god.... it was their mistake to have the kids in the first place if they are claiming they can't afford to feed their kids... thats just complete bull shit..

I know a girl who tells custies that her husband doesn't want anything to do with her and her baby, blah, blah, blah..... But as soon as there's no custies around she's all about how great her man is and what he's bought her recently. How pathetic.

BTW I'm with everyone else on the whole "I have kids to support" bullshit. We all have our reasons for working, I really don't think anyones is more important than anyone elses. The bottom line is we're all here for the same reason, to make money.
