Dried out contact lenses at work

My friend who has worked with me on a few bookings wears contact lenses & she was wondering what girls do when they have to work in a smoky, dirty high-paced club environment for several days straight.....how do they keep their contact lenses from adhering to their eyeballs after a few hours of this...? She's tried Bausch & Lomb Renew, & Visine for Contacts. She wants to work again but is worried about eye infections.
Should she change her storing solution to something more effective?
    Thanks for your advice.

She should definitely bring eye drops to work. We got a new fog machine at my club, and even though there is no smoking in the club, that fog machine wreaks havoc on my eyes. I wore my new glasses to work last night instead of contacts, and it was so much better. I still had to use my drops though.

I stopped wearing my contacts to work... Okay, well I actually stopped wearing them altogether. But, I used to bring drops and the case with me in case I wanted to take them out.

Be careful about the solution you use on your eyes when you have contacts in. Ask your eye doctor.

I just got the new Oasis contacts, which are great - but they are silicone based and you have to use a different rewetter and absolutely cannot use the old saline. Generally, just use whatever solution you are supposed to use at night.

And avoid any eyedrops which are supposed to reduce redness in your eyes. There's stuff in them that will make your contacts stick more to your eyeballs.

I use the Opti solution. When I change solutions, I sure as hell feel it in my eyes. The smoke does suck (I only have to deal with it in the changeroom, but it is one big cloud in there, being basically the change/ smoke-anything-but-crack-room). I find the biggest help is to limit how long I wear my contacts in the day. If I have to stick them in before eleven am or noon, and I am working all night, it might start to bother me. So if I have to get up at eight am and have the contacts on until 230am, my eyes will get sticky. Drops never helped me much, actually. I find all you can do is 'rest' your eyes from prolonged contact use...maybe wear glasses half the day when they get irritated (though I look awful in glasses, and am ever so vain).

Drops work for me...I put them in about 2-3 times a shift. Just plain saline eye drops.

I use Daily Disposable Contacts for this reason. I have EXTREMELY dry, sensitive eyes. I also recommend a gel based eye drop called "Systane Free". It feels funny at first and takes some getting used to be it is soooo effective.

This sounds strange - When I used to wear contacts and they would dry out at work, I would make myself yawn. When you yawn, your eyes naturally water and moisten your lenses. Saves a trip to the restroom or dressing room for eyedrops. Just don't do it in front of a custy, or he'll think you're bored!
