Bored out of my mind, so I thought I might start a thread for you all to explain where you got your screen names from. ( I was wondering most about yekh's )

I'm boring. My name is Christopher. The "Mr Christopher" thing is just something people started calling me a long time ago,and it's what it says on my business cards. I've never been one for corny DJ nicknames, it's too contrived for my tastes.

Er...mine is "borrowed" from someone I knew way back when.

I always thought the name was cool, so here it is.

Well, I danced under my real name (most of us did around here) and there is someone who's screen name is almost exact and I didn't want any confusion.

I happened to be watching Charlie's Angels when I signed up and Drew Barrymore's character was Dylan....hence DylanAngel.

I think I got mine way back when I still had AOL. My first car was a Corsica, and I like how beautiful fire can be. So I put them together.

Tyffani was always my "back-up" name when I was out with friends. When a guy I knew I wouldn't be interested in, asked me what my name was I'd say Tyffani. It was actually a joke to begin with. And I danced once with that as my name. The D. is just because my real first name starts with D. Nothing exciting really.

This is going to sound really geeky but Capt Max was a comic/character I created. I had a friend draw a few panels and he used my face as a reference and sooo... my friends started calling me that so... Capt Max.

kryssy is my dance dance. I have had that name for 10 almost 11 years now. Pretty boring I know. One good thing is that no matter where I've worked I've never had to use another name.

Lola was trendy at the time. Lee is my middle name. And it's so pornstar-ish sounding

Dude, what the hell?? I replied to this a few minutes ago and I guess the site ate my post!

So here it is again... Yekhefah is Hebrew for "barefoot" (feminine singular). When I was an undergrad, I never wore shoes to class - like maybe five times in four years I went to class with shoes on. The rest of the time I was always barefoot, no matter the weather. My first Hebrew teacher thought it was funny and he started calling me ha'isha ha'yekhefah (the barefoot woman). Yekhefah kind of stuck as a nickname, and I still like it, so I use it here.

A long long time ago in a far away place called Potsdam, a young man was trying out something his Technical Communications Professor told him was a new communications tool called the World Wide Web, which was going to revolutionize the transfer of information. The young man was skeptical, as, being a resident of 1994, he had never seen nor heard of anything like this. Still, he was intrigued. As he prepared to try it out, the system asked him for a username. "Don't use your school system name..." the professor warned him. "There will probably be instances you will want to maintain anonymity." He shrugged and glanced down at the book he was currently reading, The Generation Warriors by Anne McCaffrey & Elizabeth Moon. Noting that the title was both poetic and interesting, and also that it had little to do specifically with any particular character and more than nature of the main character's relation to her reality, he decided to adopt it as a name for an alternate persona. Not being able to fit "TheGenerationWarrior" in the username request field, he quickly and efficiently shortened it to "GenWar". It has been the primary name for his online persona ever since.

Paige was a character name for both fiction and role playing I used. I loved how common yet unused it is! D'Winter is a variation of DeWinter, as in the wicked femme fetale from The Three Musketteers.

One of the dancers that I worked with in Denver early in my career gave me my name. 'Hey Oz." "What's up Oz?" Finally one day I asked her why she called me 'Oz'. She asked me if I have ever seen The Wizard of Oz. I said "Sure I have. Why?" "Well..." she said, "there's a scene where Dorothy and the gang are standing in front of the fake wizard, and Toto pulls a curtian back to reveal the real wizard. The real wizard gets on his mic and says 'Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!' Well Oz, You're that man behind the curtain!"

At that moment DJ Oz was born.

Paris was able to woo the most beautiful woman in the world and convince her to join him in Troy, causing one of the most famous wars in all history. (incidentially, the city in France was named after this charater- ya know, the city of Love... Hence my stage name "Paris Love").

It is a story of love triumphant. I wanted to have the charisma of one who could steal the heart of the most beautiful woman of the world, and to exude that beauty to all who see my performances. Kind of a good luck thing, I guess.

I originally was AussieVee (as per my EmailCash nick on the forums) in alot of internet places however I decided on a change and wanted to "brand" myself as such (lol) .....so "GoldCoastGirl" was born! This was waaaay before www.goldcoastgirls.com.au came into being and now people always ask ... "Are you one of the Gold Coast Girls" ... unfortunately, no. I have applied but they havn't accepted me...........yet!

Tho' I will affliate with them once www.goldcoastgirls.com happens as I have www.goldcoastgirl.com registered (I've had that domain for awhile just done nothing much with it). I will also affliate with them once I finally have www.goldcoastgirl.com.au (doesn't work so don't click it) happening as well (I need to get a business name before I can get the domain name due to the laws about those domains here in Australia).

Mine is a nickname I got when I was a freshman in high school. One day a friend of mine started calling me little big tit(at the time I weighed 90lbs and had 32DD) after awhile it got shortened to lbt and everyone started using it. Its kinda funny to this day there are a couple people that argue about who started calling me lbt first.

I stumbled upon SW out of curiousity, I had no plans of sticking around a long time. Well I was feel especially non-creative, looked over and saw a hello kitty stuffed animal on my bookshelf next to my computer. The 27th is my bday (of June), and so there is my name. I don't care for it, but I guess I'm stuck with it.

So, to add (after reading Hello_Kitty27's post):

Would you want to change your name here on SW?

For me personally, it's a yes.

LoL i started using HoneyHITZ when i was 12years old on AOL. HITZ stands for Hanson Isaac Taylor Zac (yes, im a big hanson fan). and the honey, well i dunno, it sounded cute... friends followed suit with SugarHITZ, GetMeHITZ and assorted other screennames, and people routinely copied my name with things like HoneyHITZ1 and 2, lo. Honeyhitzmore came from my screenname getting blocked for bouncing emails, and i couldnt access the site, so while i was on the phone with rhia, i decided on adding the MORE, lol.. it was either that or HoneyHITZagain, lol
