    Default Anatomical/Contoured Implants vs. Round?

I've been looking through BA photo galleries and the look of anatomical implants really appeals to me...they look so much more natural and just generally create a very nice shape, but there is also the chance that anatomial implants can "turn" and then the look is...not so great.

So basically I'm wondering if anyone here has anatomical implants and what were your experiences with them, and generally what is everyone's take on on anatomical vs. round implants?

i have textured rounds medium profiles. i thought about getting the natural shapes but i had a doctor put it to me this way.

when you hold an implant by the top, gravity pulls it into a natural shape anyway. if you get one with a natural shape already, your going to have nearly no upper pole fullness.

I have a feeling that anatomically shaped ones would make weird cleavage, too.

    But I know nothing!

My doctor strongly discouraged the use of anatomical implants for two reasons. They can turn upside down which can only really be repaired with additional surgery by replacing with round implants. And as i.breathe already alluded to above gravity will give round implants an anatomical shape anyway while in an upright position.

For me personally it ended up being a moot point as I had to go with expandable implants to achieve the size I wanted without requiring multiple surgeries.

Plus, make sure the bags you get have a warranty, and get the extended warranty. You never know - Mentor is okay but Meghan bags have a warranty that pays up to 2400.00 - on your replacement bags if something happens to them.

I have anatomicals and I LOVE THEM... despite what some docs say, rounds still end up looking round, and dont have the teardrop shape. Mine are silicone gel, which is the only reason he recommended going with the contoured. Never had a problem with them moving or flipping, they are under the muscle and in their pockets very well.

I have had a lot of compliments on them and i am a full C/small D and usually people cannot tell they are fake!!

I have Mentor Textured Teardrop. Under the muscle, lower areola insert, four way secured.

They are 375cc bags overfilled (with saline) to 450cc. Heavy C - Small D. Implanted in 1999.

I have never had a problem with movement, since the texturizing on the bag allows the muscle to adhere during recovery. I have full control of my breasts...I twirl tassles and they keep a pretty good beat!!

I was recommended these bags from my doctor due to my chest cavity size and the fact that I am extremely lean. The way that the muscle adhere to the bag decreases separation.

The four way secure is a stitching procedure my doctor uses to increase muscle attachment on the top, sides & bottom of bag. This almost reduces the chance of "dropping" to early after surgery, and from remaining high on the chest plate.

The muscles that run across the chest are in an "X" pattern. The four way helpes secures the bag in the cavity where the muscle mass is reduced.

Here is one of my posters...I have been told they look great...you decide?

Whatever your decision, make sure you are well informed!

Those look great Alena. That's much more upper pole fullness than I was expecting from anatomicals.

It depends on the implant. A saline or regular silicone implant will naturally take on an anatomical shape if placed under the muscle, since the muscle usually only covers the top half of the implant. Due to too much movement of my implants when I flexed my pec muscles, I chose to have my implants replaced above the muscle. I also chose to have Mentor CPGs, which are a semi-solid implant (the gummy bears), and they only come in the anatomical shape. When they were under the muscle, no flipping, but since they were put on top, they have flipped about 3 times. It happens when they are being handled a little roughly , but I've always been able to manipulate them back in to the correct postion, bending forward slightly while pushing down on the top and up on the bottom. Scared the hell out of me, but once I learned the proper "technique", I can flip them at will! Looks and feels weird, so I try to be more gentle with them now!
